At least five children were injured when the bus of a school run by the paramilitary Frontier Corps was targeted with a remote-controlled bomb at Turbat in southwest Pakistan on Tuesday, police said. The
condition of one of the injured children was critical, officials said. The bus was carrying about 30 children at the time of the blast.
The bus of the Frontier Corps school was targeted at Commissionary Road in Turbat, 700 km from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. Two other vehicles escorting the bus escaped the blast.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Baloch nationalist groups active in Turbat are usually blamed for such bombings. The groups are waging a violent campaign for autonomy and a greater say in the exploitation of Balochistan's natural resources.
