'Bilateral trade between Pakistan, Afghanistan has dropped by $2b'

Afghanistan was one of the few countries with which Pakistan had significant trade surplus.Loss in exports hits Pakistan economy very badly, especially given the current foreign reservers

The very important task for govt of Pakistan should be to force Afghan refugee exit, no matter what.

When almost 5 Million + refugees will leave, there will be less use of resources and Pakistan's import bill might drop too.

Pakistan has lost 123Billion $ due to the war and havoc caused by those who are mostly Afghan refugees. Loosing 2 billion in return of more peace and security is thousand times worth. Indian should help their besties and take these refugees.

Indian should find the void generated by this drop.... We are the top imported from Afghanistan but for export we rank quite lower in the rank.

Meanwhile Uzbekistan has decreased its tariffs on Afghanistan by 50%.
Iran and Turkey have rapidly replaced Pakistani products in Afghan markets (which are better in quality).
Local products have now a good share of the market and it's continuing to grow.
Iran and India is providing Afghanistan an alternative sea route.
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are providing alternative land routes with good incentives.

Thank you Pakistan.
please take your 2 millions plus refugees as well, just like the rest of the world you Afghans arent wanted in Pakistan anymore.

Take ur rubbish with you

Trade is going down, trust me its not a good thing for both the countries

What good is trade when the security of Pakistan is taking a full blow. Is this 2 billion really worth it? Do you know how many billions Pakistan has lost since hosting these savages? There is no comparison.

Afghanistan shouldn't forget rest of South Asia. Once a robust transport infrastructure is in place, all other S.Asian countries, Iran, China will drive trade. Pakistan can keep making noises, we don't care.

If you could stop supporting terrorists in their home country they will happily and voluntarily return to their peaceful country. (not only from Pakistan but from many other countries)

The main aim for Pakistan should be to lowering the trade further and pushing the Afghans out of Pakistan. Pakistan should not allow people of a country that has shown nothing more than ungratefulness.

Unfortunately it hadn't been a "Pakistani aim", had been more vise-versa.

If that means you agree with us on border management i would call it a hard win
But this thread doesnot reveal the true complete story :D
https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/afghanistans-transit-trade-through-pakistan-picks-up.540662/

Transit trade has been always remained the same through-out the decade (and a spike shows positive trend on Afghan exports nothing for Pakistan), bilateral trade is something different which we are discussing here.

Ironically most people here are emotional fools who just can't see that fact that Pakistan is simply loosing her second biggest export destination. :)

As I have heard from someone long time back, Pakistan who wahid koum hey jo apane barbadi ka jeshan khud manate hey. It really sounds true in this context. LOL :p:
Unfortunately, I have to agree with you.

PDF crowd is a strange bunch really. Few are well-informed.

Pakistan has experienced trade of deficit crises for a long time now, and IMF bailed out our economy recently. This news, if true, is BAD NEWS actually. Pakistan's trade of deficit will significantly widen, and the country would have no choice but to knock on the door of IMF once again. However, Trump administration is watching.

Livelihood's of many individuals are at stake. And when you do not have anything to eat - TERRORISM.

Matters of economy are not a joke.

Not just ungratefulness, but refuses Pakistan's right to exist.

we dont need to support any terrorist networks in Afg, your own country men are enough to cause terrorism. what is it 60% of Afghanistan is under taliban control yet you bark about pakistan supporting the haqqani network.

hilarious you good for nothing afghans can only kill each other and blame outsiders.

PS why are your afghani brothers raping people in Europe, the same countries that are giving you savages asylum you rape their women and children. Gutter class people. take your refugees out of our country

This is the side effect of increased transit aid.
More we allow India to transit more Pakistani exporters and manufacturers will suffer.
