Ashraf Ghani have just made it for the next president of Afghanistan and being from economic background, it expected that Afghanistan will see some radical Economic reforms to kick start the economy.
But Afghanistan also needs to revisit its foreign policy here.
The Most important thing that Kabul need to do is to stay away from Indo-Pak Feud. And keep Neutral in this matter. It should avoid deep defence ties from both India and Pakistan as it will create alienation from the other. And both these countries are vital for a stable Afghanistan. To Buildup Its forces, Afghanistan can seek Russian US and Chinese help for training and equipment. And these countries will willingly cooperate with afghans to set up formidable defence force against terrorists.
While Economic ties with India should be encouraged as it will help develop its infrastructure. Also it should promote business with India.
Pakistan can help Afghanistan in limited Anti-Terror training and joint operations against terrorists across the border along with Trade and Development. While Indian concerns should also be addressed that afghan land will not be used against India.
Chinese and Russian Equipment will be ideal as it will be economical and Easy to acquire and maintain.
While as a good gesture Pakistan and India can donate some of there F7s and Mig21 respectively to Afghan Air force as it will suffice its requirement for counter insurgency ops. Might be some Russian Fagfoots and Chinese A5s as well
While Russia can support more Mil mi 7 and 18s. and some Mil mi 35s as well
I believe a neutral and Unbiased foreign policy is the most important thing that Afghan Government need to consider for a better future.
At the end, Whole world should start working for Afghanistan for the betterment of their people and they have seen enough destruction for a life time.
