This article refers to the intellectual dishonesty/double standard followed by our so called intellectuals who get promoted by the media. They cry 'fundamentalism' and 'terrorism' when a temple or house of a religious minority is vandalized by certain people who are not even remotely related to rightist politics. Our media always cry of minority persecution where not a single minority person was assaulted or killed in so called communal riots in the last decade. But this time when 10 persons of an ethnic minority group (read Biharis) were either burnt down or shot dead on a single day they choose to keep mum (is it because these people happen to be Muslim by religion?).

This incident has been severely condemned in social networking circles. I saw very few comments conveying any sign of hatred towards the Biharis. In Monday night's ETV talk show a representative of the Bihari people was invited along with a human rights activist and a former BAL MP who was cornered by the show co-ordinator and others when she wanted to deny the involvement of her party people in this heinous crime. The Bihari representative very clearly described the incident and the plight of the Biharis in camps which the Awami controlled media has always hidden from the mass people. This is a healthy sign. Seeing this rather unexpected reaction even Awami cabinet members started to condemn this attack and said 'no one would be exempted'.

I appreciate your effort in putting up a red headline, but that does not tell us what is in the body of the article. You might not feel the need because you are already familiar. im not saying that pakistan must do their repatriation, but i m saying pakistan must settle this matter with the bengladesh govt. pakistan must take a stand that since they can't be repatriated, they should settle in bengladesh, embrace the bengladeshi nationality and if nesessary arrange some fund for them getting settled in bengladesh, these guys are living in tin houses for generations, just because they await repatriation, by delaying the matter pakistan is behaving as a very irresponsible state who is not ready to take any responsibility for humans

@ India was partitioned on the basis of "Two Nation Theory". So, once election was held in 1946 where the Muslim Leaque won in majority seats was given to Pakistan and where Congress won it went to India. So, the burden of taking these Bihares not only lies on Pakistan but it also lies to Bangladesh also. As because the Bihares played a vital role for the Pakistan movement.

@ Around 50 lacs of non-muslims from the then East Pakistan went to India and around 40 to 60 lacs of muslims migrated to East Pakistan mainly from West Bengal, Assam and Bihar. Among them around 22 to 23 lacs were pure Bihares. After 1971, around 7 to 9 lacs opted for Pakistan. Only 1.5 to 2 lacs some how reached to Pakistan. Once Pakistan saw that ethnic problem is rising so they stopped taking them. Why to blame Pakistan only ???? Pakistan has its own inherent problem. Many fled to India specially in West Bengal. Many went to Pakistan via India. Many went to Middle East and so on----.

@idune, While it's true that the Awami regime is backed by India and they are directly or indirectly responsible for the crimes perpetrated by the Awamis, it's a nuisance to see India being brought up everywhere unnecessarily. Did you notice how many views each of the threads started with 'India backed illegal Awami genocidal regime' recieve irrespective of their content? Why? Not because they think it's not true but because it gives the readers an impression that the poster is trying to manipulate them and no one wants to be manipulated.
