And why does it concern the West, they don't live in Saudi Arabia and they never plan on doing so. Maybe Western nations need to keep it's law in it's own nation and not worry about others.

You people whine about how immigrants go to your country and want you to change your laws to benefit them but you want countries that you will never go to, change their ways and follow yours.

It concerns Sweden, because of the agreement signed by the then Socialdemocratic government of Sweden
and KSA some years ago. Now the government is a coalition between the Green Party and the Social Democrats.
The Green Party is against ALL arms exports and especially against arm exports to dictatorships Like KSA.

The agreement was up for renewal, and if not cancelled. It would continue for another 5 years.
The Green Party would have none of it.

Does not mean that arms exports to KSA is generally banned, but there are restriction on what
kind of weapons may be exported, as there are to any undemocratic country.
Small arms may not be exported but Anti-Tank missiles and Airborne radars are OK,
since they would not be very useful to combat an "Arab Spring" in KSA.

Noone is "whining" about foreigners wanting to change laws.
What is not appreciated is demands to be exempt from laws
or demands to have special laws that only apply to certain foreigners (read Muslims).
Anyone that wants a new law will get scrutiny, and proposals to adopt Sharia
will get the proposer a reputation as a madman. That is how it works.

As for apologies, Sweden consider KSA to be a medieval dictatorship,
no apologies will change that, and Arab diplomats do not show
a unity front behind locked doors.
