Asian Games medal tally 2010 shows China's dominance in world sports

It is true that China has shown dominance in world sports after the Guangzhou Asian Games. As China improves in AG, it is also improving in terms of worldwide competition. They joined the Olympics in 1984 and garnered a total of 32 medals. In 1996, they got 50 and then 59 in Sydney. In 2004, they (China-32 golds) surprised the world by prevailing over Russia (27 golds) in the second spot in terms on gold medal. Their domination had been proven when they won 15 more golds as host than United States for the first time in history of the Olympics. The final tally for the Chinese was 51 golds, 21 silvers and 28 bronzes against 36-38-36 for the Americans. Russia got only 72 medals, the traditional rival of United States, which was the former’s lowest output since 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Due to 2008 medal tally results, a lot of sports analysts have predicted that succeeding Olympics will be a head to head battle between US and China.

ofcourse china will win the majority of medals because look at china's population, and talent to go with it.

That ain't sport, the real sport is "let the bullet fly."
Chinese has near monopoly dominance in all shooting sports.
Civilian (such as olympics) or military.

Before laughing have a good look at the medal tally of the last Olympics...

china going to beat america again in 2012 london olympics , no doubt about it.

I think it will be a close fight between China and US in total gold medals, but in terms of total medals USA will still be on top. Russia will improve its gold medal haul to at least 24-26 golds with 77 in total. Great Britain's tally would be 16-23 golds. Four nations will compete for 5th place. These are Australia, Germany, France, and South Korea. To complete the top 10, these are the contenders (Japan, Italy, Ukraine, Netherlands, Cuba). We will see improvements on Brazil and India.
1. China 38-42 golds
2. USA 36-40
3. Russia 24-26
4. Great Britain 16-23
5. Germany, Australia, France, South Korea (13-17)
9. Japan, Italy (9-14)
11. Cuba, Ukraine, Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Brazil (5-12)

When there is a thread of development and improvements in China .
Why always India is brought in ?
Tht too it is always brought in by Pakistanis .

We won the Cricket World cup by winning against them in semis
We were 2nd in CWG

We have to improve a lot in Olympics .
We are currently no where near China

Get yourself to a bookies when the Olympics roll around. Might make yourself a bit of cash. I heard places like betfair and ladbrokes accept bets on medal tallies.

We should not compare China from India. It it obvious that China is better is most sports than India. However I believe that Indian sports groups and agencies are really preparing for future of their sports. Time will come that they can level-up with other countries like China when it comes to sports.

Yes China may have been not really good on popular sports because they are probably focusing on sports where they think they can dominate. But now they can also dominate sports where they don't used to dominate before.

We should remember that no matter how popular or not a sport is, the more important is every nation is giving all their available resources to be competitive. Let's be fair!

China still has long way to go in teamsports.

why chines are not interested in cricket........:china:

every country has their own national sports, in china like basketball (not very good), tabletennis, gymnastics, swiming (reasonably good), diving, weight lifting, volleyball (reasonably good), football (very bad), shooting and badminton etc are very popular. but something like cricket not so popular
