What's new

Anti-submarine choppers to be made in India soon

If that really as the idea then why did the UPA govt. never took a decision to support this ? 10 years was not long enough ?

Please don't embarrass yourself buddy with such nonsense, because it just shows your lack of knowledge! The initial LUH order included licence production in India too, just that it was aimed to be done by HAL. The new government kept the licence production in India requirement, but took HAL outside of the deal and provides it now to the privat industry. That's the same policy, with the only difference that another Indian company will produce them in India.

Why did it take a Modi govt. to scrape the light utility helicopters tender ?

Because these were ongoing tenders, which as said only needed a final selection of the winner now and the forces would get the aircrafts they need soon. While they did started the same policy for new tenders like the FICV, newly started howitzer and the Avro replacement tender that the former MoD provided to the privat industry.

Only because the NDA re-names the older policy, scraps running tenders with delays and cost inceases, doesn't make it a new policy and surely not a good thing for our forces!

LOL. Please provide proof that HAL is not allowed to participate in the LUH tender.

The Initial tender was open to foreign companies who would do offset in India. The new tender is open ONLY to Indian companies.

If this is how I embarrass myself I will be happy to continue doing it. You can continue to copy paste and pretend to be a "expert" :P

An ongoing tender that is being processed for 10 years under the UPA

NDA is revamping the old UPA system of policy paralisis. It is scrapping tenders and issuing new ones that involve INDIAN Industries. The kind UPA did not do it for 10 years. Funny how that delay of 10 years did not affect the forces but this move will :P

Lage raho munna bhai.
