ANI chief Tariq Mehboob dies in Rangers custody

Anjuman Naujwanan-i-Islam chief and Sunni Ittehad Council member Tariq Mehboob was killed in Rangers custody on Saturday.

Last week, Mehboob along with five other people, including his family and party members were arrested during a raid from Karachi’s Federal B Area.

However, two days later, the five family and party members were released but after being presented to an Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi, Mehboob was handed over to the Ranges on a 90-day remand.

The ATC was reportedly told that Mehmoob was facilitating and providing financial support to target killers.

The cause of his death is not yet confirmed.

While Mehboob was reportedly detained in a Rangers cell at the jail, the Rangers spokesperson has denied Mehboob died in Rangers custody.

This is bad now news for this Operation. This would turn lot of Criticism towards rangers now and would also Effect the whole Operation as well. Rangers has to come out Clean on that otherwise whole confident in this operation would Parish. This need to be seriously Investigated and the real Culprit of Negligence on his health condition should also brought to justice otherwise Questions would started happening on Ranger's Performance as LEA in Karachi.

Indeed. It has been happening forever now, this death from heart attacks in Police/Rangers custody. Do you think the circumstances and the torture might be to blame too rather than natural causes every-time? Would you have said the same if one of your former (not sure there) Taliban buddies would have died under similar if not same circumstances?

Dying under custody would always keep the suspicions in place no matter what were the reasons might be. LEAs would be questioned in the end because ending up dead while being in Custody without any conviction in other words DETENTION would point fingers at negligence of LEAs.

There is a thing called "Post mortem" which has been in practice for many decades and can easily determine the cause of death with 100% accuracy 99% percent of the time. Lets stop rumor mongering, accusations and politically/racially biased judgements and wait for the official report.

Any kind of Marks are possible including Allegedly Torture once as well since he was in Ranger's Custody for last two days so Rangers deserve benefit of Doubt on both angles that is innocent as well as Guilty.
