China only 262

Are China and asians too soft?

Wow so much American protectionism!

China is very supportive of free trade, the less barriers (on both/all sides) the better. Free market competition is good for business in the long run, it drives innovation, productivity, optimization and ultimately competitive advantage. By now Chinese exports is largest in the world, spanning through almost every possible industrial segments, 57% of exports are electro-mechanical, high-tech exports is the pillar with value more than US-Japan-Germany combined, so let's continue.

There is no need to limit imports, instead China is already 2nd largest importer in year 2015, and Imports will continue to expand. For examples, in physical volumes so far this year crude oil imports increase by +14.2%, natural gas +22.7%, copper ores and concentrates +34.7%, coal +8.2%, iron ore +9.1%. These increases are built on already massive import volumes last year.

China will sustain a healthy level of trade surplus, ~$600 billion per year. Two decades of surpluses have helped China (mainland) to become world's major creditor nation second only to Japan. So China is not soft on protectionism which it's simply anti-market. Let's drop this counter-productive ideology, embrace free trade!
