Akinci & Aksungur and Turkish Unmanned Fighter Aircraft Program

Minister of Industry and Technology, Varank's statement on Canada's populist decision:
UAV developers in Turkey no longer importing any parts from Canada. There were electro-optic cameras attached to UAVs as payloads lastly, but now manufacturing by ASELSAN.

Turkey's using of accessible and "on the shelf" products, presented as a strategic deficiency by some posters and so called-experts. However, the situation was only related to the cost and time factor of developing aircrafts. As a result of these populist decisions, all these countries have not any trump card no longer in the field of UAV. We are grateful to these countries for encouraging our domestic production. 🙃

Foreign experts and policymakers have serious problems in seeing the transformation in the Turkish defense industry. Their analysis and mode of action are stuck to 10 years ago. However, the interval of 2020-2033 means the next horizon for the Turkish defense industry.

Drones will be the future 7th 8th generation fighter jets. Maybe they will have a mother ship controlling them. Great that Turkey is well advance in making drones and the experience they gained during Azerbaijan and Syrian war will only make them better.

Is Turkey making any Target drones similar to Russia and USA? An air superiority stealth drone which has AESA rader, with BVR air to air missles? Anti jamming capability etc.

Well with standoff weapons some of its vulnerabilities could be alleviated I suppose and EW pods could likely be carried on hardpoints in the future.
Which standoff weapons it will carried and what is the range of these (Turkish Standoff Weapons)??? may tens of kilometer in range, and it is suspected to be intercepted by Medium to long range SAMs/ Fighter jets

SOM has a few hundred km range but you are correct the other missiles dont have as much range but conflicts dont happen in a vaccum there are other Turkish assets supporting the Akinci during conflict like Havasoj SOJ.

It looks very well armed that is for sure.
1/32 scale model carry 4X TEBER LGK(LGB) 2xKGK(Wing-Asisted GK) and Som-J(mid range Cruise missile), and some other winged precision strike munitions on the outer pylons. If we calculate the guidance kits with MK-81s, this roughly means a minimum 1600kg(~3500lb) ammunition lifting need. According to published AKINCI specs last years, total payload cap given as 1350kg. IMO, this capacity can be reached by largely compromising the 24-hour flight time, or an efficiency inreasing over 20% has been achieved at the prototype level yet. The first would be a more realistic approach. There is no doubt that the model looks beautiful, but when these aircraft will carry SOM-J, It will likely flight with different payload combination because of mission types, anyway.
