The Air Weapon Complex, located in Wah/Kamra, is involved in developing and manufacturing different kinds of air and ground weapons. AWC is one of the leading organizations in Pakistan in the field of Air Delivered Weapons/Systems. The Air Weapons Complex manufactures a variety of air delivered weapons, including extended range bombs, Target penetration bombs and Infra-Red Search and Track Systems. The AWC product range includes: HAFR-1: Anti Runway Weapon; IRST: Infra-Red Search and Track System; 250 kg Pre-fragmented Bomb; 250 kg MK-82 Steel Bomb; 500 kg MK-83 Steel Bomb; 1000 kg MK-84 Steel Bomb; Air Burst Electronic Fuses (Impact and Detonating); Low/High Drag Tail Units; 25 lbs and 6 kg Practice Bombs; GPS: Global Positioning System; and the Mushshak Trainer Aircraft. Technical expertise also includes: Electronic system design and production, Mechanical components precision manufacturing, Prototyping and production of specialized mechanical assemblies, TQM practices, Mil-Spec Qualifications, CAD/CAM support.

The Air Weapons Complex embarked on a project for the indigenous development of UAV's in the middle of 1998. The Sky Tracker and Sky Navigator suite of software were developed for the ground-based tracking of remotely piloted vehicles (RPV's) / unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's). The software gets the UAV's GPS positional data from a radio data link. This data is used to show the position of the UAV as a 2D plot along with essential UAV data like, speed, altitude, heading etc. This plot can be overlaid onto area maps also. This information is used by the pilot for flying the UAV beyond visual range.

  • Real-time ACMI system
  • Voice/Fax/Data encryption system
Other
  • Multi-Spectral Camouflage Net - camouflages against night-vision, infra-red, radar and millimeter wave sensors as well as visual detection. Stated to reduce an object's radar cross-section (RCS) by 86% on average and reduce average detection range by 43.8%.
Technical Expertise
  • Software Development for Mission Critical Systems
  • Non Destructive Testing Software and Mechincal Support
  • Electronic System Design and Production
  • Prototyping and Production of Specialized Mechanical Assemblies

Is NESCOM also part of this AWC.

The NESCOM Burraq represents the first locally-developed and manufactured drone for the nation of Pakistan.

NESCOM works in collaboration with many weapons development companies of Gov it is part of every as many weapons and missile parts are same in many weapons. But AWC specializes mostly in Air launched weapons. This complex had made many great achievements but was never discussed and our young generation know very little about the achievements of Pakistani forces that is why I made this thread.

The big question is the laser kit also develops locally or just in the 500 lbs bomb ie pk 82 83 and 84

Pk series is copy of MK series but not sure if the laser guided kit add on is also locally developed , It not listed anywhere on product list by any local defense entities but displays at depo display center

The laser kits are developed locally and are sold to many countries around the world.

But there are more informed member about the issue on PDF they will help you better.

Thanks sir for highlighting their achievmnts

Do we use this lgb on F-16 or Jf17. Or even on F-7pg with help of ground laser targeting. Any picture of this Lgb mounted on any fighter would give a perfect clue.

F-16 can only do self lasing rest all fleet still dependent on ground or buddy lasing f-7s can but are mostly used in air defense role
