What's new

Afghanistan will not be a democracy: Taliban

They will probably go for something already practiced in their culture. A consultative council of elite persons; a new kind of theocratic and artistocratic mix IMHO. Something that meets the need for representation by the elites all over the country.

So they said goodbye to West and their money. Pakistan has to be responsible big brother and help them out.

It seems they’ll want to switch an ‘Ameer ul momineen’ type system in Kabul (semi Iranian style), and simultaneously lend a great deal of autonomy to regions, tribes, and local commanders, for the sake stability and keeping Afghan structure in mind.

This is a good strategy IMO, and easy to reconcile with their opponents too, allowing them just enough space. Meanwhile, they will manage Afghan security at a national level, int’l diplomacy etc. They will not become secular, it’ll still be limited rights for women, but they’ll go only so far as to keep the World happy, they’ll only go so far as not to invite sanctions or attack.

Afghanistan will be open for business from China (CPEC extension, mineral exploration, Central Asia trade linkages), Russian investment in pipelines, as well as projects like TAPI.

After some convincing, Russia and China will be on side. They did not lose face in the war like the US, nor do they care for democracy and rights.

That kind of thing is similar like Parliament democracy system. What Taliban wants, IMO, is elites among Taliban supporter (Party) who become the member of consultative body, more like CCP in China.

But they will have to make space (formally or informally) for the secular elite in some way.

OP. In that case, they have the qualifications to be a US ally. :omghaha:

Name a single powerful western country that is demanding democracy now in Afghanistan. All they are asking now is to be inclusive for all major parties in Afghanistan- that is it. Major commitment will be regarding anti terror policies.

World need a new system of governance as a alternate to democracy, as an option to choose. The days of democracy dropped from the wings of B52s are over.
democracy has never been the only option. Only some self-righteous westerners cannot imagine the validity of the alternatives.

There is no other way to get the people's leader than democracy with universal franchise. All western countries have been asking for it. They want a compromise among warring factions and a legitimate elections. That is not in Pakistans interest of course as people there absolutely hate Pakistan.

Makes complete sense there are many Government systems in world

  • 1 Party system (Modern China)
  • Democracy (2 party system)
  • Socialism
  • Communism (Chinese model)
  • Communism (Russian model)
  • Kingdom
  • Islamic system, closer to votes from prominent figures

demon-crazy is already failed everywhere in the world... demon-crazy is like

100 gangsters VS 50 innocent - winning side? Gangsters because innocents are in minority - That's the end result of DemonCrazy

Country is just a tool. It is a tool for the ruling group to rule the ruled. The banner of democracy cannot change the fact that Wall Street is the ruler of the USA.

We do not recognize the USA as a democracy. In a true democracy, the people rule the capital through the government, not the capital rules the people through the government.
