Afghanistan to support Pakistan if attacked by US or India: Karzai

Now we cannot stop you from day dreaming!!!

so all of you responding to this Sher Malang are positive that he really is Afghani?

should we conduct a Darri test or Pastho test? something that is not available in google translate?

well that aside, dont quote hateful reports and then respond to them, because they will be deleted together with original post

Unification of Afghanistan and Pakistan is natural they are twin brothers, if Afghania province becomes part of Pakistan , we will protect it with our airforce and nuclear weapons

No more war in country for next 200 years

:hitwall: what do you want from the most backwards and poorest country on earth. We dont want Afghanistan, we were never interested in Afghanistan.

No, I don't think its a good idea to have Afghanistan part of Pakistan or as a Pak province, its more trouble than its worth. We should however do our best to help Afghanistan stand on its feet. And fence the border as soon and as fast as we can.

India must display solidarity with Pakistan and should give ultimatum to USA that any attack on TSP will be consider attack on India and India will declare war against USA.

Are you joking. I dnt see a reason why India declare a war against. But we should oppose US incase of war with Pakistan.

No i'm serious USA's presence on Indian subcontinent is dangerous to most of Asia including middle east to eurasia to CAS.Its only in indian interest oppose usa getting any foothold on Indian subcontinent. So supporting Pakistan against USA is only in India's interest even if India has to fight USA on behalf of Pakistan.

Karazi had made the statement based on reality. Both india and US are outsiders and can not be there, besides Afghanistan would need Pakistan no matter how one calculate future of the region.

Regarderless whatever weight his statement carries, message is sending chilling wave through indian avdenturists. Dang! India can not have a good day.

by the way we asked you to clean up the transit corridor its finished or not!!!

It's his diplomacy, the reality is no Afghan will support Pakistan if it is attacked by anyone instead it will boost Afghan's moral to achieve their goal of having Greater Afghanistan (Loy Afghanistan).

You see this is the problem, Afghans are such ungrateful people. You're ungrateful for Pakistan gave you shelter in the 80s, you're ungrateful because today more than 0.5 million Afghans (who were here as refugees) has Computerised National Identity Cards issued by Govt. of Pakistan, you're ungrateful that 95% Afghans are earning a life by doing trade with Pakistan, you're ungrateful for 90% of the daily use items comes from/through Pakistan and yet you're so blatant in your claims that we will not support Pakistan in any such event.

During the 71 war with India, Afghan Govt. let Indian Airforce attack Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly NWFP), you didn't think of your loy Afghanistan when your Pakhtun brethren the other side of the border were being bombed? What Pakistan did in return after 8 years, they kicked out USSR from Afghanistan for you and for their own sake. The Taliban were installed there by Pakistan to keep control of a chaotic Afghanistan. The US and NATO came in and they claimed the control of Afghanistan, and with the Afghan support, they unleashed a war on Pakistan, more than 20,000 (out of 35000+ Pakistanis) Pakhtuns have been killed so far in that grudge with Pakistan - where are your sentiments for loy Afghanistan here when Pakhtuns are being massacred all over?

Look Sher Malang, since history speaks of Afghan's ungratefulness and deciet mindset to Pakistan, it has it's interests in Afghanistan and those interests correlates with the safety of Pakistan and it's people. Afghanistan cannot be handed over to any Western or Indian influence, as it is and will directly affect Pakistan - Afghan land should never 'be allowed' to used against Pakistan.

We Pakistan, has no ambitions of making 5th province 'but' to see peace prevails both sides of the border, and in order for Afghanistan to be a prosperous country she has to make good relations with Pakistan and it's people, your enmity and grudges with Pakistan and it's people isn't going to get you any where.

Afghanistan to support Pakistan if attacked: Karzai

Updated at: 1729 PST, Saturday, October 22, 2011
KABUL: Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Afghanistan would support Pakistan in case on an attack by any country including the US and India, Geo News reported.

“If Pakistan is attacked and the people of Pakistan need Afghanistan’s help, we will be there for Pakistan” Karzai said while speaking to Geo News senior journalist Saleem Safi.

“We will never forget the hospitatlity of the Pakistani people” Karzai said, adding that no one including China, US and India could incite the Afghan people against Pakistan.

The Afghan President further said that both countries should work together for peace.

Karzai should first ask from usa about this. He is the person who can't even go to toilet without asking from usa. what he is trying to dictate? we are enough for any agressor and afghanistan , your tactics not gonna work. We don't want your help. Go save your country.

Yes we are ungrateful of the bold part because that's wrong but brother I have mentioned many times that we have brotherhood with the people of Pakistan not it's government and army as long as they are supporting, funding, training and sheltering our fugitive Afghans. Every Afghan who lived in any part of Pakistan will not deny Pakistanis hospitality towards them, we are extremely grateful of that.

During 70s Afghan gov struggled to get the territory and you know those attacks were not on Pashtun people in KPK but on military bases. Again I don't agree with the bold part; We didn't call US and NATO to attack Afghanistan it was Pakistan who allowed them attack Afghanistan from Pakistani bases and allowed their supplies from Pakistan and if you are so curious about US and NATO and their killings kindly tell your gov to cut their supply from Pakistan and see they will not resist a month in Afghanistan.

I don't agree with the bold part, but be sure that Afghanistan will not allow anyone to harm Pakistan! if Pakistan is harmed we are harmed and vice versa.

We are not enemies, there are certain things which are so difficult for normal Afghans and Pakistanis to understand but surely there will be a solution in nearby future neither Afghans bear the current problems nor Pakistanis.

You indians dont know anything about our region, so focus on your own region Nepal and Bhutan and leave Afghanistan to us.

Taliban controls 80% of Afghanistan as of today in 2011:

Afgh-security%20-map-ICOS.JPG

Look at the map again . It talk about taliban activity not taliban control . There is a massive difference between the two .

By your measure TTP would also control 80% Pakistan .

Karzai said what is logically needed in greater regional intrests and stability. But Americans are having stomach ache because they neither care about Afghanistan or the region, they interest are only self gain. Americans need to stop trumpeting about their commitments to this war and dedicating Americans lives to fight this war because Afghans never asked for it. Wait a few days and Karzai would fall in same line as Qaddafi with the US and EU.

Afghan president’s comments rile US lawmakers

WASHINGTON: The Obama administration should rethink its commitment of dollars and American lives to the fight in Afghanistan, according to lawmakers furious with Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s recent statement that his country would back Pakistan if it went to war with the United States.

That anger over Karzai’s remarks is likely to surface when Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton testifies Thursday before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, her first congressional appearance since her trip last week to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Lawmakers also are expected to press Clinton on the administration’s recent decision to temporarily pull its ambassador out of Syria, the withdrawal of US combat troops from Iraq by year’s end and the Palestinians’ push for statehood at the United Nations over objections from the US and Israel.

In an interview that aired this past weekend, Karzai told a private Pakistani television station: “If fighting starts between Pakistan and the US, we are beside Pakistan. If Pakistan is attacked and the people of Pakistan need Afghanistan’s help, Afghanistan will be there with you.”

He said his government would not allow any nation, including the United States, to dictate its policies.

Those comments drew a sharp rebuke from members of Congress, including some who have been strong supporters of the decade-plus war in Afghanistan.

“Without the assistance of the United States, $468 billion from the United States Treasury and the supreme sacrifice of 1,820 American soldiers who have died during Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan would still be ruled by a gang of Taleban thugs with few individual liberties and no popularly elected leaders,” Rep. Norm Dicks of Washington state, the top Democrat on the House Appropriations defense subcommittee, said in a statement.

Dicks said Karzai’s comments underscore the need for the United States to reconsider its mission and schedule for withdrawing forces from Afghanistan.

The United States has about 98,000 troops in Afghanistan and plans to bring most forces home by 2015. It intends to withdraw the 33,000 additional troops that President Barack Obama sent to Afghanistan in 2009 by the end of the fighting season in 2012, 10,000 of them by the end of this year. About 3,000 of those have already left.

“Now more than ever, President Karzai’s insult to America tells me that it’s time for our country to stop pouring our limited taxpayer dollars and losing precious American lives in a country where we aren’t even welcome — and even worse, where they have the gall to threaten to side against us,” Sen. Joe Manchin, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said this week.

Rep. Connie Mack, a Republican member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, said Wednesday that the US “needs to have a foreign policy — as President (George W.) Bush said — you’re either with us or against us.”

Lawmakers have been critical of Pakistan, demanding it crack down on the Taleban-linked Haqqani network, considered a major threat to American forces. Adm. Mike Mullen, the former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, told Congress last month that the violent Haqqani network “acts as a veritable arm” of Pakistan’s intelligence agency.

While in Pakistan, Clinton bluntly said if the government in Islamabad is unwilling or unable to take the fight to Al-Qaeda and the Haqqani network operating from its border with Afghanistan, the US “would show” it how to eliminate its safe havens.

Clinton’s appearance comes as her department’s budget is under siege in Congress.

Legislation in the House would provide $39.6 billion for the State Department and foreign aid, $11.2 billion less than what Obama and Clinton requested for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1. Separately, it would provide $7.6 billion for the Overseas Contingency Operations budget for Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Clinton has criticized the cuts, especially since foreign aid amounts to just 1 percent of federal spending.

Clinton will be facing a committee that has been the most antagonistic toward the Obama administration foreign policy in the current Congress. The panel, led by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Floria Republican, has voted to slash US contributions to the United Nations, conditionally block assistance to nations overseas and cut funds for global climate change initiatives and programs to help poor women and children in developing countries.

The efforts have largely been a symbolic slap at the US State Department as the committee’s bills stand no chance in the Democratic-controlled Senate and would face a certain veto by Obama. Even the GOP-led House hasn’t taken up many of the measures.
