An explosion occurred on the transportation vehicle of employees of Hairatan Customs petroleum products in the Sayed intersection of the third security district of Mazar-e-Sharif city earlier, this morning at around 7:30 am (local time).

An explosion outside the military airport in Kabul on Sunday caused multiple casualties, a spokesman for the Taliban-run interior ministry said.

“Today morning an explosion took place outside Kabul military airport, due to which a number of our citizens were martyred and injured,” spokesman Abdul Nafi Takor told Reuters, adding that investigations were underway.

He did not specify the nature or target of the explosion.

Local residents said a loud explosion was heard before 8am in the vicinity of the military side of the heavily fortified airport.

They said the area had been sealed off by security forces, and all roads had been closed.

The Taliban-run administration has been faced with a bloody insurgency waged by the Islamic State militant group, which has in recent weeks targeted a number of key installations in Kabul, including the Russian and Pakistani embassies as well as the office of the country’s former prime minister.

In the Khewa district of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, Afghan Special Forces conducted a successful operation targeting ISKP militants.

During the operation, they eliminated a high-ranking ISKP commander and the shadow governor of eastern Laghman, Turab Bajuri, along with his comrade Gul Bari. Bajuri, who had previously defected from the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), joined ISKP in 2015.

He played a significant role as a trusted associate of ISKP's emir, Abu Saeed Muhajir.

In Afghanistan, a highly skilled and unidentified team achieved a successful operation by eliminating Tariq, alias Bitan Kharab s/o Muhammad Rafiq, R/O Muslim a bad Koz Sherpalam Matta.

Tariq was a notorious terrorist affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He was considered one of the most wanted individuals on the list of targets for security forces.

The precision and effectiveness of the team's operation led to the successful neutralization of this high-value target, bringing a significant blow to the TTP's operations and ensuring the safety of countless lives.
