Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A NATO-led International Security Assistance Force helicopter crashed Friday in Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul, killing five people, an Afghan police chief said.
ISAF confirmed the helicopter "went down" but said the cause of the accident was unknown. "There was no report of insurgent activity in the area," said Capt. David Yaryar, an ISAF spokesman.
Afghan police and fire crews were on the scene of the crash in Kabul's eastern district of Bagrami, said Gen. Ayob Salangi, the Kabul police chief.
Five bodies were pulled from the wreckage, Salangi said. The victims were identified as Turkish citizens, he said.
There were no immediate reports of civilian casualties

KABUL, Afghanistan – Police say a helicopter belonging to a Turkish company has crashed into houses near the Afghan capital Kabul and that 10 people were killed in the crash.
Mohammad Zahir, head of the Kabul criminal investigation department, says eight of the dead were on board the aircraft and two were on the ground.
He says authorities are trying to determine the nationality of the people who were on the helicopter.
Police officer Pashtun says the helicopter crashed Friday in Bagrami district of Kabul province. Pashtun only uses one name, like many Afghans.
