Terming the alleged rape of a three-year-old student in a Bangalore school as 'extremely unfortunate', National Federation of Indian Women general secretary Annie Raja on Wednesday said there is a 'war-like' situation for women in India and added that such things will continue to happen unless governments and the system take initiatives to ensure the rights of women.

"Unless governments and the system take initiatives and steps to ensure the rights of women and ensure that women are equal citizens of this country, such things will continue to happen. There is a war like situation for women in this country," said Raja. "This is happening to women in India irrespective of their age. So far, whether it is the Central Government or the state government, they have not woken up," Raja added.

Blaming the schools for not taking the responsibility of safety of students, Raja said "In spite of protests and wide spread reporting of the previous incident, the schools are not taking care of their children. The schools are not ready to take the responsibility of protecting the students in the school. The government must take very stringent action on such schools, if they fail to protect then the license of the school must be cancelled."

Earlier on Tuesday, a three-year-old LKG student of a private school in Bangalore was allegedly raped by her school teacher. This incident of sexual abuse in a city school took place almost three months after a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two gym instructors inside the premises of another private school in Bangalore on July 3.

Shocking situation. This has more to do with the sadistic mindset of certain barbarians than women's rights, but I agree with where she is heading.

Unfortunate incidents, but these human rights groups and social activist love to exaggerate and generalize . One would think from their comments that men are Asuras from hell and women are angels descending from heaven who have done no wrong at all...
