Hello Everyone
I am posting a thread here after ages. The Topic of discussion being the rising cases of crimes like Rape , Molestation , Eve-teasing which is pretty much rampant in our parts of the world and innovative ways of countering/neutralizing such threats to our society.
I believe some of the few causes of such crimes to be sexual deprivation, male dominance , a rigid and inflexible attitude towards sexual topics which have been thrust on our collective psyche for years . Basically a relic of the over-prudish Victorian era.
In my opinion a solution to this quandry might well be expressed in a word -- Pornography.
In the larger interests of society , we need to shed our naturally repressive attitudes and stop frowning upon the whole gamut of ways to ease ourselves --in short " try to forcibly repress the natural urges "
Legalizing pornography in places where it is not and providing protection to certain authorized places where it already is would be a start.
There will always be the self -" appointed guardians of morality " who would doubtless come up with every shred of counter-argument , starting from their self-perceived ideals of morality to aping the western culture blindly , but once again we need to look out for the larger interests of society.
Such groups may range from the extreme right like the VHP/RSS/Bajrang dal/Shiv Sena in India to the ultra conservatives of Jamaat in Pakistan or Bangladesh .
In my opinion therefore -- opening of dance bars , strip clubs and the like . Stopping police raids on **** site owners .
and at the juvenile level introducing separate sex -education centres by private individuals would be ideal to curb and growing levels of frustration among the general populace.
Such a suggestion may be quite crass and in-your-face , however it might prove to be extremely effective in the long run.
One more possible reason for such problems may be a skewed sex ration-- I believe the male to female ratio in India currently to be 900 something girls to every 1000 boys.
An in-equal gender ratio coupled with a complete inability to establish birth control procedures uniformly across the country makes for an explosive , combustible mix indeed.
Hence I came up with such an idea after being inspired by two movies which I had the good fortune of coming across.
One is "Matrubhoomi " - a nation without women
And another - Middlemen
I would recommend "middlemen" to anyone who wishes to learn the subtleties and risk taking abilities of an entrepreneur , anyone looking for a couple of eye opening facts and just about anyone who would like a quick " jerk"

So folks what do you thing would be a smart and simultaneously efficient way of taking on this menace ? without resorting to harsh punishments as deterrence or even higher levels of practiced
austerity/modesty.
I would like to invite all to share your views and opinions on this subject. Any new ideas , opinions or just general talk is absolutely welcome.
