Here you go, it is from official UVZ brochure...turns out apart from turret shape and use of esr steel, not much has changed.

Same layout as 30 year old t-72B...

The sad part is the hull, no changes to it in thirty years!

This mbt with the type of layout, will truly struggle against modern kinetic energy ammo.

Indian versions, the ones produced by the OFB at least, do not have the same armour.

So Russia designed and made better version for india than russian ones

anyways , its not the design , its material they use.

The Indian variants have indigenous Kanchan ceramic armour which is topped by a layer of Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA)

Further, you can't expect a 46-48 tonne tank to have armour equivalent to a 60+ tonne tank. Western tanks give high impotance to crew safety and hence have huge weights. Russian tanks are more focused on mobility since they have huge area to cover.

No, it's just that they denied us the tech transfer for the main gun and armor array, so our guys in the OFB had to make do with what was available in country.

I know, I never implied otherwise.

That may not be entirely correct though, not always, a host of other factors are involved.

The weight has more to do with their substantially larger size compared to the later model Russian tanks, so as to make room for the 4th crew member than anything else.

That's actually not entirely correct either, it's more complex than that.
