May 27, 1995 - During the siege of Sarajevo, the French Marine infantrymen from the 3rd RIMA led a bayonet charge to regain the Vrbanja bridge against the Serbs. Had they failed to do so, the Serbs could have taken the city.

Pour la paix..... for peace.

Why bayonet charge brother? Were they out of ammunition?

No others words than that : I salute all of you and those who fallen in the fight to protect people.

I felt myself the emotion of General Lecointre.

I salute you in the names of my both countries France and Pakistan.

And what a destiny for Captain Lecointre, who's now General Lecointre, chief of defence staff of the French armed forces. :agree:

I liked that the man did not 'brag' about this at all despite likely saving plenty of lives, he was rather realistic in his viewpoint and once again proves that war isn't a joke in any way. A true soldier.
