ISLAMABAD: Renowned nuclear physicist Dr Samar Mubarikmand has said that Pakistan is abundant with mineral resources of more than 95 per cent.

He said this while addressing a convocation at the Jinnah Convention Center here on Saturday.

Dr Mubarak further said that 95 per cent wealth of Pakistan lies under its soil in the form of huge deposits of coal, copper, gold, silver, iron ore, lead, zinc, chromites and bauxite.

He said that Pakistan is a country endowed with vast resources as the fertile lands yield rich quantities of cotton, wheat, rice, oilseeds and fruits etc. He stated that these quantities not only feed and clothe Pakistani people but also find their way into world markets to fulfill needs of other countries as well.

He said that in order to break the shackles of present poverty we have to divert brilliant human resource to the fruitful exploitation of our immense mineral wealth.

“With a single minded focus on this vision there is no reason why the economy of the nation will not take a giant leap forward,” he added.
