China is conducting test flights of four J-20 fight-generation stealth fighter jets simultaneously in the southwestern city of Chengdu, reports the Kanwa Defense Review, a Chinese-language military magazine based in Canada.

The People’s Liberation Army is said to be testing the four prototypes at the same time to speed up the test flight phase of the jet’s development so that it can be completed before the end of next year and move into small-scale experimental production between 2017 and 2018.

The aircraft, developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, is also said to have undergone various changes, including alterations to the tail and main wing, and has also been equipped with the latest photovoltaic targeting system with an active phased array radar to enhance ground attack capabilities.

According to the report, the PLA Air Force may begin to introduce the J-20 to its fleets between 2017 and 2018, beginning with the PLA’s test flight center in Cangzhou, a prefecture-level city in northern China’s Hebei province.

Sorry, but I can't think that the PLAAF or even CAC exclusively reports to Kanwa !!!!

Not that I want to dismiss the fact that there are indeed such tests, but that seems like a bit of "I do not know what to write, so I just imagine a news-report" since no-one can prove it.

Anyway four J-20s at the parade in September would be an impressive sight !

But anyway ... are there any news regarding no. '2016' or whatever it is numbered ???

In a few hours I'm leaving to France for three weeks without internet-access ... and it would be nice to have it seen prior to departure.

Anyway thanks for all Your reports, post and news.

You won't get a lot of news on J-20 because of the crackdown on leak. Also PLAAF is testing in discrete place now.
