10 Incredible Facts About India’s Mars Mission That Will Make You Super Proud

I just pointed out reality. India is dirt poor and the local masses want to migrate to other countries yet sending useless space missions lol. Don't be a laughing stock of the world.
At least They are fleeing for jobs not for terrorism

Is India a part of Cern- hell no.
Has any ethnic Indian won a nobel prize- again, hell no.
...
If you are this uninformed, you really ought to stop parading your ignorance.

The first Asian to win a nobel prize was an Indian, and today the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh are songs written by him.

CV Raman won a nobel prize in physics for explaining the eponymously named Raman effect, long before a country called Pakistan even existed.

Several "ethnic Indians" have received nobel prizes, the most recent being in 2009 for chemistry.

None of them had to flee India in fear of religious maniacs. All of them are celebrated as national heroes, in stark contrast to how Pakistan treated Abdus Salam. In Pakistan, the sole nobel prize winner is not even acknowledged to be a Pakistani, because your society worships bearded and illiterate men with Kalashnikovs over a scholar who unravels the mysteries of nature. Abdus Salam's gravestone comically describes him to be the "first nobel laureate", because your countrymen erased the word "Pakistani" from it.

For your own sake, do not try to belittle a country that, while admittedly having problems of poverty, is still infinitely better than yours. We may both be in the gutter, but one of us looks to the stars.

Any proof besides the announcement of success?

Any proof besides the announcement of success?
Nope. It's all a big hoax, like the holocaust and Neil Armstrong landing on the moon and the WTC towers being brought down by aircrafts.

BTW I'm curious, what sort of "proof" are you looking for?

Ok these are some facts to make Indians proud.

But what is the purpose of this mission? Can it give any new info which we dont know already?
This is basically a technology demonstrator.

Most importantly, the mission serves as a demonstration mission with the main objective of placing Mangalyaan in orbit around Mars as a study for future spacecraft and mission design.

What hasn't been done before:

The Lyman Alpha Photometer payload, LAP weighs about 1.5 Kilograms. Its core objective is the precise measurement of the Deuterium-to-Hydrogen abundance ratio which is an indicator for atmospheric loss processes and the role of Water in these processes.

The core objective of MENCA (Martian Exospheric Neutral Composition Analyzer) is to study the exospheric neutral density and composition at altitudes as low as 372 Kilometers above the Martian surface. The instrument examines radial, diurnal, and seasonal variations in the Martian exosphere. With Mangalyaan in its operational orbit, the spacecraft will have close encounters with Mars Moon Phobos which allows MENCA to estimate the upper limits of the neutral density distribution and composition around it. Studying the Martian exosphere will provide valuable data on the present conditions as well as atmospheric loss phenomena.

The MSM (Methane Sensor for Mars) Payload weighs 3.6 Kilograms and is designed to measure methane concentrations in the Martian atmosphere with parts per billion accuracy. The instrument features a Fabry-Perot Etalon sensor that uses multiple beam interferometry at wavelengths of 1,642 to 1,658 nanometers to detect the signature of Methane that has a characteristic overtone band at these wavelengths.

This instrument would complement the methane sensor aboard the US craft MAVEN.

The TIS (Thermal Infrared Imaging Spectrometer) instrument measures thermal emissions from the Martian surface to deduce surface composition and mineralogy.

Lol.... tujhe sharam aa rahi hai naa???

Koi nehi... hota hai...

I didn't know that mars mission will give such a great butthurt to pakistanis

USA did what you guys did some 40-50 years ago. You guys have literally just replayed what they did with no real benefit to science lol. I bet most ppl consider this mission laughable considering Indian ppl wear dhotis a want to flee India
So says a Pakistani who conveniently shifted his @** to Australia to flee his country.

Congratulation.. but you missed one more point... Chinese or Japaneses... both were try to developed on their own.. on the other side majority in ISRO have vast experince in working with NASA . U.S.A. ;)

You are wrong .

Chinese were not developing on their own ....... They tried to piggy back onto the Ruskies to get the credit .

But the mission failed in earth orbit itself .
