'Are we supposed to burn Indian currency?' fume NRIs in RBI queues

See the problem with political tools like you is that you can't see anything beyond politics. Everything is justified as long as it helps you win. The thing is winning elections does not necessarily make you a good policymaker. It is not a validation of your policies, especially in a country like India where you can get votes even by playing caste, religion cards. You should know better given that you people keep crying about 60 years of Congress rule all the time. I am not a political tool, I don't campaign for any political party. That is the difference between you and me.

Modi is not going anywhere but this whole charade was an exercise in futility, it is not going to stop corruption, if that was the aim, it has already failed, and it sure as hell won't stop terrorism... you also have to realize that people with "black" are generally invested in brick and mortar, gold, and other "holdings" such as fraudulent firms that only exist on paper.

what the hell, are people really dumb enough to believe that those with "black" are hoarding stacks and stacks of paper money, james bond villain style ?

I am not a political tool I just hate hate people who blindly oppose anything that Modi does even if it benefits the nation. It is the congress ideology which has kept India back

The likes of Congress BSP, SP, Mamata etc are opposing DeMo and calling it Anti People. It is their main election plank. If the people reject it and BJP wins then it proves that people in general support DeMo

man, I loathe the congress, jihadidi, commies and socialists etc too, but let there be space for dissent from other quarters too.

honestly, this (demonetization) is not a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned but it was still a pointless move, I see zero benefits going forward, and those 2 cashless months were horrible.

So which other quarters are left. In a democracy opposition is required but it should not be opposing just for sake of opposing

Completely agree, he is one of the most conniving politicians ever-- he knows how to win at any cost. I would never dispute that.

Win at any cost..thats whay shrewd means...he is not trying to be logical or correct...he just wants to win at any absurd cost..

Politics is about winning. If the people dont accept his policies he wont win

demonetization was to stop the flow of fake indian currency. it was known that Black money can be turned to white, with the help of any bank, any once can overcome this issue...
the demonetization was for stop this FIC from pakistan... billions of rupee(FIC) was pumped into india through gulf countries and Bangladesh.

not for sake of opposing, but because it inconveniences you for reals.

We will see how Modi's demonetization drive plays out during the election cycle. Time will be in Modi's favor. If the results of demonetization are positive -- reduced corruption -- then he should do fine. It also helps that there is no viable opposition to him, at the moment.

Modi is extremely popular because he's perceived to be incorruptible. I think this alone will carry him through.
