Because culture difference . This us literally the same as saying dont paint Pakistan flag on pigs .
Feet are considered dirty in India , we are expected to wash our feet when we enter a temple or house . To do otherwise os highly disrespectful , its beyond Hinduism, most of this subcontinent share this concept .

There are cultural differences around the world. The floor, feet, are seen as dirty and to point them at a person is rude.
This is pretty common thing in Iraq when the US had forces there during the rebuilding. Public places would be painted with the American flag on the floor for patrons to walk across. Before the practice was ended by US Soldiers splashing white paint over the crude flag.
But this is disrespectful. A country's flag, regardless of which it is, should be shown with the respect it deserves.

Does it really matter. It's not a flag. It's just a doormat in the form of a flag. So chill.
They key is that this is for sale in Canada, not India. Stop dictating how people of other countries should conduct themselves and respect their culture.

Yeah but they should have just stuck to the Canadian flag though, Yes altruistically it's just a piece of cloth, But it's also a banner that represent a nation of people.. Where do you draw the line on this, Do they also have Chinese flag as door mats, Or the crescent and the star ?

Well are Muslims a nation ? Do they have a specific flag to represent them ? Satire and directly offending a group of people are also two different things, Just out of curiosity any examples on this regard that Muslims have been offended on commercial scale ?
