Can anyone confirm that above pic is related to PAF of PAA control unit for UAV...!
because In picture no: 1 it is clearly shown that they are using cheap Logitech xtreme pro 3d joystick which is arround 5000PKRo_O and wire is connected...!!! and i am also using such one for my flight simulation of DCS A10C warthog plane....! they should buy rudder pedals and a decent joystick for that one...:cuckoo:

Shameful that Pakistan has a well established Domestic UAV industry but our Military prefers foreign. Shame shame.
And you are here to revive 2012 thread for this great comment?? I salute you!
PS: we also have to keep certain factors like performance of UAV on sea and humid environment under check and hence PN chose best available option as per cost and technology available at that time...

There has been one crash of luna already recently

^ Air frame is not the issue neither is the engine , launch vehicles , control stations as we do plenty of that. Real deal is the navigation , communication, surveillance & data processing embedded systems and electronics on board.

Oscar can shed some light on it.

What Pakistan is lacking in this area, is not only the avionics, but the encrypted secure control beyond line of sight. But then again, Pakistan's defense forces are India specific so 100-200 KM's of coverage is more than enough when borders are next to each other. But in a distant enemy's case, the encrypted secure control would be needed on open airways. That's the MOST difficult part as you don't want someone reading your signals or jamming them or altering them and taking control of your bird!

How they land back on ship platform or only be used br land marines

Luna cannot be operated from a ship simply because its retrieval mechanism is quite complicated. It requires a large net and accompanying cranes that cannot be installed on ships. LUNA will remain for land use only and probably by the PN Marines in marsh areas next to India. Its a limited capability UAV system as far as PN is concerned.

That was the Luna bird being operated by the Pakistan Army and not Navy. It fell near Kasur border due to some mechanical failure.

Nope it fell in the Creek marshes

The Luna contract was done in 2012 but l don't think it materialized as the navy inducted the UQAB II Sqn recently. Otoh army is operating the Luna.

I share your observation as well. The LUNA crash I was quoting was a few weeks back and it was pictured & reported all over the media as well. It was deemed to be flown by the 'Rangers'. I did not know about the Luna crash in the marsh areas. Was the PN testing it under local acceptance trials if it is not formally inducted?

In actuality, LUNA was never deemed suitable for the PN in the first place owing to its limited usage and recovery technique. It was inducted because the company EMT and its local agent Target Consulting had hired a retried Navy Captain in 2008 whose course mate was the DCNS ops at the time. So LUNA contract was the special favor of the DCNS (ops) to his retired buddy hired by the Luna manufacturer.
