yes,

Near My house. I daily pass through under this bridge to go to my office.

Very peaceful area. People really enjoy the life here. Few months back there was a flood here. People enjoyed flood also. They ate lots of Bhajiya (Pakodas) of different variety. i mate an old Bengoli laddy. She was highly impressed with surti people. She told me that She was worried too much of flood. But people of society were enjoying. They were eating Pakodas, doing photo shoot and bathing in flood. They really enjoyed the flood also.

I tried to upload a file but system do not accept it as it is large.

While my family worked and lived in Karachi in the 90's, I lived in Chembur & Santa Cruz back in the day.
  • Nice to see this happen, wow! Went jogging, a visual of the neighbourhood :

The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road in Mumbai, which claims to boast of India's first double-decker flyover has generated a huge buzz! A double-decker flyover, and a first time at that, as the MMRDA claims, is certainly a boost to India's infrastructure.

We take a look at some stunning aerial images of the double-decker flyover. Feast your eyes!

The Rs 450 crore SCLR project offers faster connectivity between Western Express Highway and Eastern Express Highway (EEH).

rs-450-crore-sclr-project.jpg

The SCLR comprises 1.8km long double-decker flyover above the Central Railway's main line and Harbour line tracks. It has access to Kurla (W), Kurla (E), Tilak Nagar, Amar Mahal and Eastern Express Highway.

The SCLR - providing three lanes each for up and down traffic - is expected to carry more than 80,000 vehicles per day.

Motorists using the SCLR will save at least 30 minutes of travel time between the eastern and western suburbs.

It also has footpaths on the lower level flyover for commuters to cross over from Kurla Station to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and vice versa.

The project, conceptualised in 2002, missed 12 deadlines due to issues related to resettlement, rehabilitation and encroachment. The groundwork commenced only in 2007.

The delays were due to reasons like not getting permission from the railways to build the double-decker flyover, and the rehabilitation of more than 3,500 families in Gazi Nagar, Buddha Colony, Sable Nagar, Rahul Nagar and Indira Colony, and of commercial units in Kurla and Chembur.

The flyover had a soft opening as official function is not allowed due to code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.
