Mentioning Balochistan in the joint statement really did open the Pandora's box. Now India is dragged into the issue which is rapidly becoming international. Now we only need Afghanistan to take one side and Iran to take the other -we'll have another unsolvable problem in South Asia.

Frankly I am split on this issue. First there is the issue of security (police can't identify people) and that of coercion (difficult to prove either way). Maybe this can be worked around - by having all Burkha clad people checked by women cops etc. I am assuming that a woman voluntarily...

Another issue seems to be (atleast from Indian reports) that the ISI chief asked for his "counterpart" in India. There is apparently no direct counterpart for ISI chief in India since RAW is organized differently in the political/military hierarchy. Wonder if they'll send a politician/diplomat...

Or alternately, the guy was trailing Benazir for a while and when she came out, they fired. One would never know how long they have been trailing Benazir and the attempts not made.

Assuming that the guy is telling the truth, it is a real issue for India. Apparently the Balochi people believe that India is helping them. It would be really bad for India if India is really not helping them, but some people believe they have international support.

Thanks. I watched the entire video. If the original comments were true, I'd have believed that India is actually involved in the Baluchistan mess. But from what the video shows, it is not much of an evidence. He first says he saw Karzai. That would have been a full blown war announcement...

Sorry about you being shot at. That said, all I am saying is that Vickers has been around the region for a while and would be an obvious one to be copied and used. India should not need to ship the gun from India. I am just asking whether the accusation was that India gave those guns...
