I can understand why you would not want to get caught in the crossfire. I'll not say too much more about it than to say the DL and Tibetan exiles fled to India in 1959. This still predates the 1970 date you gave. I think it would be an error to overlook the effects of the 1962 war had on the Indian psyche (at least judging the attitudes in this forum and the number/tone of articles published in India about it)
