the truth in Sri Lanka is not what the Sri Lankan Army and the Sinhalese have fed to the world.It is ony a part of the story about the LTTE and their atrocities.
On the other hand,the same Sri Lankan Army has committed innumerable war-crimes fit to be tried in the international court of justice including indiscriminate killing of women,children using and invloving in ethinic cleansing of Tamils (irrespective of whether they are civilians or not).
yes the LTTE commited atrocities and no one is supporting them,but the genocidal SL army too committed crimes on a similar sclae that were obscured from the world by the tightly controlled press there.
During the closing stages of the war especially,many surrendering LTTE soldiers who were ready to lay down the guns, were instead shot on sight and innumerable cases of raping was there.
These things I know because every month Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka risk their lives to escape from the hell and come to Tamil Nadu.There are amny refugee camps and one of them is in my city.
While in college I was on volunteer work and came to know of these.And ppl like Vaiko just oppose the SL Army for carrying out such inhumane acts which places them many places below the worst acts of the LTTE.
