  • I met Brigadier General Chuck Yeager when I was an active Air Force drilling reserve officer...at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. I was on a reservist airlift study team back in the mid-1980s being used to review the then evolving, now in use, C-17 jet cargo aircraft as to battle field and crisis management use worldwide. Yeager was in the vicinity on base and was asked to and did speak to our group informally over lunch. No, I have not read the book yet.

    Cheers,

    Sir,

    Good Evening,

Have you read Gen. Chuck Yeager's book 'Yeager". as u may be aware, the General (then Col) was also based in Pakistan on or around 71. his 'comments' on the performance of the PAF during the 71 airwar are 'much liked' here, but what is your view?

    Thanks in Advance.
Yeah but Americans are too proud to give such a huge order to some European Company..Most likely Boeing will take the contract.
Thanks for correcting my misunderstanding. The KC-135 tankers PAF worked with are the same as the tankers we have here in our Alabama Air National Guard 117th Refueling Wing.

Our USAF and Congress/President need to get off the dime and award someone the contract to build our next generation of air refueling tankers. I/we of course prefer Grumman/European Air Bus team as that plant to build new tankers will be in Mobile, Alabama.

    Have a good week,
    George Singleton
    Hi American Eagle,
Just wanted to reply your queries posted on PAF AIR Refueling Thread.
Pakistan currently only operate Russian style Tankers but there are rumors that PAF Is negotiating with US to purchase old KC Tankers with boom style for F-16's.PAF actually did several exercises recently with USAF where PAF F-16's were refueled by KC-135 of USAF in Pakistan.Pakistan and Russia does not have military relations and Pakistan bought these tankers from Ukarine. The training is given by PAF Pilots who served in foreign air forces on deputation ( like Saudi Air Force, UAE AF) and these people had experience with air refueling.
Here's a picture in which you can see 2 F-16's flying along side USAF Refueler.
