Canadian DND staff warned to remain tight-lipped while attending air shows

Split buy would be a horrible decision IMO. At the end of the day they will buy the F-35, everything else is just political posturing. Cost per Unit = Same Range = F-35 Capability = F-35 Cold Weather Operations = Same Cost per hour to operate = Gripen

Trump administration will put illegal immigrant children in military bases after separating them

"cross the U.S. border alone or get separated from their parents" The US will not be taking children from parents who cross with there children. If you where a US citizen and allowed your child to do anything remotely as dangerous you would likely be arrested and have your children removed...

New Defense Bill Seeks $7.5 Billion for Taiwan, US to ‘Push Back on China’

The United States is under no obligation to come to the aid of Taiwan. The two countries have not had a defense treaty since Jan 1, 1980. The Taiwan Relations Act is actually vague on purpose regarding how the US would react to any Chinese attack. This ambiguity is purposeful to keep Taiwan...

Russia claims it has a US Tomahawk cruise missile and will use it to improve its own weapons

Well the US has used around 2000 tomahawks in combat. I am sure there are plenty of bits and pieces laying around for the Russians to inspect. Interesting enough (at least to me) I have read that the cost of copying technology is far from cheap. It runs almost 80 percent vs the cost of...

Russia claims it has a US Tomahawk cruise missile and will use it to improve its own weapons

So you think a tomahawk traveling at 500 knots landed intact in Syria?

Trump says maybe U.S. will have a President for life someday

You guys do realize this was a comedy routine! The Gridiron Club has a dinner where politicians and members of the press give comedic speeches that are often self deprecating.

McDonald's India to Shut Down 169 Outlets

Comparing fast food restaurants in America I feel McDonalds offers a more consistent experience. You know what your going to get every time anywhere in the country. Burger King, Wendy's, and KFC varies by location to an extreme extent. Regarding quality and taste they all suck.

In global popularity contest, U.S. and China vie for first

Your not going to be a global power and please everyone. At the end of the day neither country really cares about public opinion polls.

The USS Zumwalt Runs on Linux

    US ship involved in accident.

Nobody is claiming the crew of the USS Fitzgerald didn't make a colossal mistake. It is also very possible that criminal negligence occurred on the part of the Fitzgerald. Considering the seven deaths heads will roll that can be guaranteed. The objections I have and a few other members is...

    US ship involved in accident.

Compare this to the Russian Naval accident when the freighter Youzarsif H (2100 tons) collided with the Russian ship Liman (1500t). The Russian ship sank. Any guesses who built the Liman?

Pentagon: Russia’s S-400 Air Defense in Syria Forces US to Ground Warplanes

Greetings, seems to be a lot of false information here. As you can see below the Allied Coalition has not ceased air operations inside of Syria. If you visit the US Department of Defense web site for Inherent Resolve you can get a daily update of activities. (sorry don't meet the minimum...

How stable is US government? and how safe are its nuclear stockpiles?

I am sorry I mixed it up with the Tybee Island Incident that occurred in 1958. I think your are missing my point that the US is rather open especially compared to other nuclear powers. I am sorry your are "done with me". You sound a little angry so maybe you do need a timeout. Breath and...

How stable is US government? and how safe are its nuclear stockpiles?

Just to point out The US has had many accidents involving nuclear weapons. We are relatively forth coming on these events. The fact that one has never detonated is my point that the safety procedures around the weapons are sound. The fact that we routinely carry nuclear weapons on planes and...

How stable is US government? and how safe are its nuclear stockpiles?

The accident was reported the same day it happened. Thousands of military and civilians were part of the recovery process. In fact on April 16th 1958 the US Navy announced publicly that the weapon was recovered.
