sea kings carry them -AM39
mirages carry them -AM39
and frigates carry them too -MM38

range is 70 to 180km . i am not sure Pakistan got some MM40 or not

pns tariq carry harpoons

No not from the new SKs.
AM-39 Exocet was fired by the older Sk.

What is importance of this test? We need longer range missiles for naval air fleet, AM-39 is not good against IN's ships as they can defend themselves with longer or similar range SAMs, they may be only good against attacking FACs close to shoreline.

What is your opinion?

The basic concept of naval helis is they can be put onto ships, and they increase the visibility by being forward eyes that can look over the horizon. Now these eyes have a nasty surprise as well. I think the helis being armed is a good step. In the future, the missiles can be replaced with more advanced ones, but now the base capability is there.

I know but when enemy has more assets longer range monitoring and engagement capabilities also covered by Mig-29Ks, do you think PN ships will go 100km range from them??

If there was a war today, then yes, our helis would be at risk by the Migs. But this is an upgrade plan unfolding slowly. Let's wait and watch. By the way, with the right sensors, helis are perfect for ASW as well. What if they mount an air launched torpedo?

No it's not, PN SKs had this capacity since long.

you need to ready the story of Indian jaguars and their Durandal ARB tests failure story . its will teach you why we have to test them time to time
