‘We back indigenisation, but Tejas didn’t fit the bill’

India should participate in BD aircraft program.

This one ?

Regardless of how pathetic this junk tejas is,

Says someone from a country which cannot even develop a scooter engine.

And which aircraft are going to replace the vast fleet of MiG-21's and 27's?

Tejas Mk1A

when all navies who got carriers, operate dual engine jets, like f18, Rafael, SUs, fulcrums etc.

Indian scientists be like:
judge sahab "mere 34 sal kon lotaye ga? Kon mere dollars wapis kare ga? kia meri mehnat ki koi kadar nhi?"

The Tejas was not originally a Naval jet. You are not qualified to discuss this topic since you don't know how to make plane.

fact- we haven't got the landing gear right. I'm not surprised that we have a learning curve on this. Hopefully the AMCA N will do better.

Talking too much and doing nothing

why are you describing your personality so openly on this forum?

This makes no sense. The whole point of developing something indigenously is that you design or modify based on your specific requirements. Was the Navy not consulted in the development/modification stage?

While higher ups in Indian defence forces make a lot of bucks foreign purchase kick backs, civilians use ISRO, DRDO and HAL to do the same in the name of research and development.

Yes, IN is actually still supporting this program, but has delinked it from IAC-1 as Mark 2 of NLCA wont be ready for it.

They still fund LCA production line, support mark 2 of NLCA development.

NLCA Mark 1

There's still modifications, new engine, etc. that needs to be done to make mark 2. IAC-1 will be in trials around 2019.

This platform was never supposed to be for the navy. For IN to pick this platform up from the beginning shows how much they care about the long term.

"Serve a nation' interests",A little bit over don't you think?

What Chinese interest does boasting serve?

Even if what he said wad true, which it isn't, boasting and demeaning only makes your adversary become an enemy.

And having enemies is always harmful.

This is a internet forum, personal opinion or chi chat doesn't mean anything let alone "Serve national interest".
