Application against TV show Zara Hut Kay filed in IHC

Control your tongue and do not hurt the sentiments of others, that's clearly in the Quran as well (for those who claim their are no blasphemy laws in Quran - why not preach this too huh instead of just one sided argument with selective references to Quran, eh?!).

Yeah, I certainly preach and practice it. Most Pakistanis today continuously commit blasphemy against people I consider holy, every Pakistani who has signed the passport form on religion with added bits has done "blasphemy", how many attacks have I or people like me carried out?

You may not have a full grasp on the English language as you seem to assume that because I am not for one thing, I must be pro-other. I am not saying people should go out and abuse religious figures/books etc. I am completely against it, but to say that it carries the death penalty? Or that just merely an accusation is enough to kill someone? This is what I am against and all those who sprout this nonsense.

And for your information, The Holy Qur'an does indeed reject the punishment of death for blasphemy. It's not my claim, I implore you to prove otherwise and present the other sides of the argument. It's the internet, I am not going to do what they do in Pakistan and scream blasphemy at you for not agreeing with me and get a mob together to attack you.

As I asked this @Pakistani Exile fellow and he didn't answer so I'll ask again: how would you feel if someone started saying nasty stuff about your dead female relative every day on every forum available (outside your house, on the internet, in newspapers etc etc), would you not want a law to put a stop to that abuse of a dead loved one of yours? Or you'd be totally fine (hence emotionless) with the daily cursing of that dead one?

I am not going to lynch them, I am not going to get a mob together and burn down their house. I am not going to kill unborn children. I am not going to spread hatred back against them or incite others to kill or injure them. I am not going to hang them or shoot them. I am not going to imprison them.

If someone is discussing something for a scholarly discussion, that's one thing, if someone is just being a douche, it's quite another. Even still, it does NOT mean that me or the state has the right to take their life, unless they mean to use these incitements to cause revolts or rebellions etc. In which case an imprisonment and a hefty fine, the encouragement to desist should be fine, IF the person is proven to be sane.

Also, the whole copy paste job with the law does not prove anything you are trying to prove. No one has said that spreading religious hatred should be allowed. This law protects all people, and not the majority from a crime that doesn't actually occur in Pakistan. I would support the so called blasphemy laws if it was in anyway similar to the above Act. But both you and I know that this isn't the case.

There is also no chance of there being a fair trial either in Pakistan. You are trying to compare U.K with Pakistan where the courts are ridden with defenders of oath breakers and killers. No one stands up in the U.K and quoting the above law points fingers at someone and gets a mob to kill them. Not only have you missed the whole premise of my dispute with so called blasphemy but you are foolishly trying to compare the laws of U.K to Pakistan.

I am not going to answer every part of the act, perhaps in your zeal to debate your point, you missed the whole point of my argument. Let me summarize and explain, I would agree with a law like the The Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006 that does not limit freedom of expression while protecting ALL religions and groups from slander and abuse. The current blasphemy laws and its' various parts that add the death penalty, and the abuse of this law is what I am against. If there is reform along the lines of the act you copy and pasted and its correct implementation, I will have no issue with it.

Both orthodox and so called liberals with their current state of thinking will fail to agree on this issue. They need to revisit their thinking lines and arguments.

Read Pakistan Penal Code. Death penalty is only under one clause, just ONE! You are wrongly claiming 'parts' (plural)!

Issue is not with the laws, but with the rotting system.

Btw, how many blasphemy accused have been awarded death penalties by courts in our history?

Those killing are criminals,, mobs are almost always lead by criminal elements and mobs are also hired to keep this Blasphemy law issue highlighted!

122 murders (as per wiki, could be more or less) of blasphemy accused since 1980. This total for 3.7 decades is far less than the average annual 'body in bag' dumped by the MQM's militant wing before the operation started!!

Let's inflate and assume the number is 366 murdered in last 37 years, incase you doubt the 122 in wiki. 366 = ~10 per year average.

Death penalty awarded count is still Zero!

You want the law changed for an annual average of 10 murders by criminals!?

And if the death penalty is removed, it would lead to anarchy with your liberal fascists friends completely free to say whatever the hell they want. The voices of insults will be everywhere then. But it's not going to happen, not anytime in next decade at least.

Get off this anti-blasphemy-law jihad that some of you have embarked on and do something else. You are a minority and the real evidence to support your claims is very weak. In fact, you lot are fueling sentiments that will lead to physical harm.

By all means remove the blasphemy laws when law enforcement is anywhere near as good as it should be! Until then leave them be as a deterrent.

And more people have left due to political victimisation and what about economic migration!?

Improve governance and enforcement of existing laws before even consider removing laws.

Bro there is a battle for narrative that is going on here and this psy ops. Pakistan has hell of a lot of srtructural problems and the corruption is destructive. But this liberal one point agendacan show how us how foreign funded elements are trying to divert us from basic issues.

The topic is of a TV show and particularly an anchorperson [Khuhro] with an elite feudal background who blackballs a sitting judge [IHC] with denotions of an extremist, terrorist, mumtaz qadri supporter, lawyer. These members come to derail and disinform in their own manner. I am from media I can assure u Dawn Group, Express Goup and above all Jang Group are being pushed by foreign states to establish a narrative against Pakistan, Islam& society which have brought in foreign Pakistanis living in those countries, as agents to propagate their agenda. Europe has too much islam hate content flowing around to help far right wingers and countries like Tunisia, Pakistan where there is ease to own a media company from a foreign country are trying to create divisions within.

The liberals here can't comprehend any of that so no point trying to make them understand. They simply refuse to acknowledge the regional geopolitics. They see only black and white, not the grey.

You are just arguing semantics now. I keep mentioning above that first of all, a mere accusation is enough for rabid mobs to go in frenzy, second, the law may only state death penalty under one clause, but it is enough to destroy someones life.

You so easily brush the death toll under the carpet, saying "ahh but these other wrongful acts had more deaths, so it can't so bad". Really? I don't even know where to begin with an argument like this. It's not how many people have been officially hanged for this, it's about the fact that many are dead, thousands have been forced to flee, you are not even factoring the riots and looting and destroyed homes. I can see that you or people close to you have obviously never faced a false accusation of blasphemy, no wonder you can sit here and label the suffering of others as minuscule compared to some other criminal acts.

Islam was alive before these blashpemy laws were introduced by the British in the 19th century, I am sure Islam doesn't need British introduced laws to survive.

As for not having these laws will lead to anarchy, who's saying let everyone abuse or slander as they please? You copy and pasted a perfectly logical law, if we really want to keep laws that have roots in the British, why can't we keep one such as The Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006? But who can do that when even trying to discuss these laws get you pumped full of bullets?

Also you and @A.A. Khan both need to stop being so dramatic. People like me posting against these laws can not influence any policy makers. If however you are saying that merely speaking our opinion causes a mard e momin to over heat and explode and get in to a frenzy that they attack pregnant woman causing them to lose their unborn child, then maybe, just maybe, it is they who need their heads checking?

Since you are continuously getting personal, I guess you have run out of arguments. Yes I am perfectly aware of what an English word means. You can label me whatever you want, not all of us have the luxury of being born in to elite or rich families that are the "correct" sect that our lives are unhindered in most aspects.

I am not dictating, I cannot force a single individual. I am asking people to review, in light of the Holy Qur'an. If this makes me a zionist, then maybe Pakistanis need to start to be more like Zionists.

HAhahahaha, I am doing hate speech? You've have completely lost it. This isn't hate speech. Debating is hate speech now. Time to shut PDF down.

Right now is not the time to abolish or revise such laws, especially when liberals are being used to stir $hit up. We just managed to get some grip on the sect violence under control, we don't need liberals V mullah violence in the society either.

Fueling such debate at this critical phase, one doing so is either stupid &/or playing in the hands of our enemies.

Too many fronts are open right now. Have patience and voice such issues in peace times. We need a moderate narrative from the top too for any revisions to these laws, in order to reduce the risk of violent revolts. That's all.

Hope that's simple enough for you to understand now!

I actually do understand what you are saying, and which is also why I sometimes give some threads a wide miss. But I still think you are being way too dramatic. There is no Liberal vs Mullah violence. I can't remember the last time a liberal went and shot a conservative governor because he was criticizing a human rights law. There is violence, and it is mostly from one side. And that can only stop when people stand up against it.
