Chinese diplomat and Rauf Klasra in bitter tweeting match over CPEC

Klasra and other are whining bcoz of secrecy, why dont they publish the feature of plant, number of local and Chinese workers and critical tech they are using? if China can make documentaries on projects in Pakistan why cant we do for our people? why dont they provide contract of orange line to court? why they are making regulators like NEPRA, PEPRA defunct? do they want to control tariff for Chinese plants?

people have some genuine questions which govt should answer before their secret decision come to haunt us..

btw China is not bound to answer anyone here,.. its Govt. of Pakistan whom Klasra should ask all these questions.

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of secrecy. That's a legitimate criticism of government.

As for Chinese workers, why does it matter? The objective should be to complete CPEC projects and start the process of building an industrial base so actual jobs can be created. Tarbela Dam was built with the help of American engineers. Who benefits from it today? Which worker hammered which nail is irrelevant.

I find it so shameful that China has made ten documentaries on CPEC and not a single media outlet in Pakistan has bothered to show it's results. Sun Weidong in his statement explained how 10,000 local jobs have been created in Pakistan. Look at the videos and see how many Pakistani's have learned mandarin. The Government should release data and people have the right to ask questions...but there is a time and place for this...and hounding a Chinese diplomat on twitter is bloody low class.

Time changes my friend so do technology and application of technology--- no need to reinvent the wheel---

You didn't answer my question. China still uses 60% of it's energy requirements through Coal so what makes Pakistan so special that it can industrialize with clean technology. Obviously you couldn't provide a case example because none exists:) Furthermore, you have to entice companies who have clean technology....how will you do that when the current situation in Pakistan is bleak.

What if Indus turned into another ganga or varanadi ? Forex reserves wont fix the disabled children due to some industrial pollutants . On top of that majority of our beaurcracy consists of @********* who would mortgage their a**** for some batti of a currency notes .

I share your concern for environmental degradation. I am a huge supporter of PTI's Billion Tree Tsunami campaign but our concern for the ecology has to be balanced with economic growth. You can't live off of a tree. Coal is a bitter pill that we have to swallow.

Indus is never going to turn into a stink hole like Ganges. We are not hosting funeral pyres on Indus.

I have had a few run-ins with this Klasra guy on twitter. A few noteworthy things about him:

(1) Travels to the USA a lot.
(2) Loves Indian movies, actors and intellectuals.
(3) Has more money than he should considering the kind of job he does.
(4) Wants a division of Punjab province based on a 'north-south divide'.

Apart from that he once quoted Mario Puzo's Godfather to me, like that is supposed ti impress me, I read that when I was 12 and its a book about bloody Italian gangsters! LOL!Then he claimed he had read War and Peace, No, I have have never met anyone who actually read the entire book either. He must be the first Pakistani in history to have read War and Peace cover to cover. In fact I have never met anyone ever who has read that book. I have it at home and I have had it for twenty years and still havent read the bugger! Rauf Klasra is hack.

This idiot should realise punjab will not be divided without other federation units along with it. Is punjab to big? Then divide it in 4 and others in 2.

well what an idiot Klasra,.. right now we don't have choices regarding electricity and if coal is cheap we have to go for it,. we shudn't go for the morals of pollution, let it USA, Russia and china deal with it,. we r no part of pollution in the world compared to them.,.. on the other hand, China do have choices,. they if close the coal projects still their country won't go in shade,. not our case... we have to go for power projects,.. all of them, be it coal, hydro, nuclear,.. whateaver.. and when we have enough then we'll think about closing the coal ,..

First get effing cheap electricity, build upon it and then go for renewable cleaner sources of energy. Jaib main pesa nai aur khwaab Paris ke. Beggars are not chosers! Nobody gives Pakistan a bloody dime without ravaging it first, our own politicians have raped it to the point beyond recognition and we have problem with coal powered stations. Get real, know your aukaat and accept with open arms and smiling faces whatever is offered till you can afford to have an attitude.

completely agree, he should open his big mouth in front of sharifs, he have no right to question Chinese diplomats..

Well likes of Klasra are using jobs for propaganda, they say Why we are cheering for CPEC if its not providing jobs to Pakistanis?

Those who are aware already know the fact that Chinese never bring more then executive branch and 20% labor, most workers are Pakistanis.

The late Lee Kwan Yew knew this problem well.

Speaking about the Philippines, his words apply equally to Pakistan, “The Philippines press enjoys all the freedoms of the U.S. system but fails the people. A wildly partisan press helped Philippines politicians flood the marketplace of ideas with junk and confuse and befuddle the people so that they could not see what their vital interests were in a developing country. And, because vital issues like economic growth and equitable distribution were seldom discussed, they were never tackled, the democratic system malfunctioned and President Marcos was able to declare martial law. Look at Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, their free press runs rampant and corruption runs riot. The critic itself is corrupt, yet the theory is: if you have a free press, corruption disappears. Now I'm telling you, that's not true”.

Elsewhere, he added, “Freedom of the press, freedom of news critics, must be subordinated to the overriding needs of the integrity of Singapore and to the primacy of purpose of an elected government".

completely agree, he should open his big mouth in front of sharifs, he have no right to question Chinese diplomats...

Exactly:) People should ask question to Ganja Sharif and the Federal Government should release data on all projects because as citizens of Pakistan we have a right to know. The Chinese are doing a good job in Pakistan and trust me more investment will come if we play our cards right. Remember the real benefit of CPEC will come in 1-2 decades. Even 10% of China's exports going through Pakistan will change our country and lets not forget that a number of industries in China will shift to Pakistan. However, the Chinese diplomat gave a befitting reply to this cockroach journalist and Pakistani's have supported him on twitter.

I agree with klasra on that coal plants issue. The main Focus should be on hydro , solar and wind energy. Since we've suffered that smog menace this year so its wise to keep it green, keep it clean
i agree with china, best option now in short run is to use coal, even the usa still uses coal till this day and we should be realistic instead of living in cuckoo land

Rauf Klasra should act like a gentleman and matured Pakistani not like ignorant child. In his questions the negative motives are depicted. Pakistani media houses and there journalists should be screened regularly by Pak intelligence agencies. Rather than only trying to kill pro Pakistan journalists which are few in numbers.

People like Hassan Nisar, Hamid Mir, honorable Rauf Klasra, Hamid Mir in one way or another are trying to destabilize the country and even bark against defense institutions/famous figures. They all are financially sound like actor Dr Ammir Liaqat but show themselves as mere beggars or at best of lower class.

I wonder what type of country is this where anti national channels like Geo are being sponsored by own Govt meanwhile channels like Waqt Tv, or other unbiased channels are set at lower numbers. Old saying is that this country is run by Almighty and same looks in reality that there are abundance of vultures here even then country is going on.

The respected Chinese diplomat is not answerable to any journalist or common man in Pakistan. He should not have responded to Rauf Klasra. It only resulted in a troll fest.

However, Klasra is justified in raising questions on CPEC. This is not Nazi Germany. Everybody has the right to express their opinions. On the other hand, the government must come clean about the shady deals regarding CPEC.

Though the government will never reveal these details because the military, political and bureaucratic elite are in for loads of money through commissions, kickbacks and contracts.

The Chinese Diplomat is a very nice guy he answers many many Pakistani and others (critics) about CPEC clearing everything but then there are BS like Rauf Kalasra

Hungama hain Ku barpa? Do you have Any idea about the land mass of both U.S & China ? I was just raising my concerns on the constructions of thermal power stations in close proximity to urban and rural population centers.
