Chinese diplomat and Rauf Klasra in bitter tweeting match over CPEC

Klasra idiotic on CPEC. Needs to have mental checkup!
Hey don't start calling everyone idiot.. perhaps you should act upon your suggestion yourself. Rauf Klasra is one of the best journalists in Pakistan and a very patriotic person... and I totally side with Rauf Klasra, coal is being closed everywhere in the world including China. and China itself installing huge wind farm and has the largest world's largest wind power installed capacity leaving USA behind in dust, similarly China is investing in solar, nuclear and hydroelectric power generations...furthermore. China is not a role model for environmental planning as most of its major cities suffer with extreme polluted atmosphere and recently we had smog covering Lahore and areas of Punjab for a few weeks, now double the concentration and perpetuate that to get the glimpse of air in some of the major cities in China. ....
Pak and China are doing cooperation on equality basis and Pakistan should not be selling its autonomy to any country...CPEC is a profitable deal both for Pakistan and especially for China thus Pakistanis should keep that in mind and do not let any country to dump its old and obsolete junk into Pakistan. I totally support Rauf Klasra..

China is the largest coal producer as well as user in the world! What‘s the fuse about it?The guy uses free media blabla as arguements to attack China and he sounds more like an Indian media guru.

I have had a few run-ins with this Klasra guy on twitter. A few noteworthy things about him:

(1) Travels to the USA a lot.
(2) Loves Indian movies, actors and intellectuals.
(3) Has more money than he should considering the kind of job he does.
(4) Wants a division of Punjab province based on a 'north-south divide'.

Apart from that he once quoted Mario Puzo's Godfather to me, like that is supposed ti impress me, I read that when I was 12 and its a book about bloody Italian gangsters! LOL!Then he claimed he had read War and Peace, No, I have have never met anyone who actually read the entire book either. He must be the first Pakistani in history to have read War and Peace cover to cover. In fact I have never met anyone ever who has read that book. I have it at home and I have had it for twenty years and still havent read the bugger! Rauf Klasra is hack.

Chinese should buy some Pak media houses back from the externally controlled entities... to try to bring balance to the debate.

Pak media is already sold out to special interests... so going with the theory... if you beat 'em then join 'em.

Whether Pakistan builds coal or wind or whatever energy medium is up to Pakistan govt. if you guys don't want coal plants then tell your govt. to make the necessary choice. BTW, we don't throw old junks into Pakistan, the plants build would be new plants with improved technology that many old China plants do not have.

I say you shld run, don't walk to your govt. representatives to make your point.known. Maybe we shld withdraw investment in CPEC, so much complain before anything even get started in earnest.

And this is what Mr Klasra and his ilk are paid to achieve. No, the deep State of Pakistan knows who our friends are and so does the military. China is Pakistan's greatest ally and friend. Many have tried to sell Pakistan down the river. This Klasra is just another one of them. There have been many over the last thirty or forty years and yet the alliance proceeds. Long may it last. Dont worry, there are many in Pakistan who view China as a cornerstone of Pakistan foreign policy.

you can question, it'll clear the misunderstandings , nothing wrong with that,

However there is a clear line between questioning and getting personal and thats something unexpected from a seasoned journalist like Klasra who usually spares no one in his criticism,

If Chinese are okay and Transparent with all the processes then there's nothing to worry,
Let the journalists do their job of questioning and everyone's happy.

We have much discovered coal fields in Pakistan; if we could not utilise them for energy than what else we could do with them?
Further, is there any technology to reduce emissions from coal power plants?
We have to study and explore the field and not to hurt each other with blame game, I think Pakistan has credible base of scientific research to resolve such issues thru R&D.
China herself has massive experience in coal energy. Somewhere, I read that Chinese industry have free access to electrical power only home user have to pay the bills.

There are so many patriots on this forum who spend significant time (including me, at times) laying out what XYZ govt body "should" do --- the problem is that the theoretical solutions to most problems (PIA, Steel Mills, police performance, de-radicalization, NAB rules, etc.) are all there --- it's the people in power who will never implement laws that hinder their own ability to make money and keep power.

So, yes, PEMRA "should" have laws (and there "should" be separate media courts for speedy justice) that allow a person or institution to sue any anchor/channel peddling opinion/fabrication as fact. These rules are quite strict in the UK and other countries and a Pakistani channel just got a pretty hefty fine there.

...but the real world doesn't operate on "should."

Hes an excellent and experienced journalist...

And now being patriot or traitor depends upon questioning about CPEC.

Then we wonder why Mullahs act so fascist when someone questions about aspects of religion. Every Pakistani is a Mullah in its own capacity.

I love the response of chinese diplomat... when you ooen the window .. fresh wind comes in .. so do flies...

Klasra was shouting on top of his voice against musharaf...... sat silently for 5 years during zardari tennure.... and now very active again...

There is a lot who starts getting active when ever pk starts growing...

Any ways ... world stopping using coal????
The most rediculous of ideas i have heard for a while...
Coal will be used for next 1000 years its cleaner than nuclear

If it is so profitable, who else would invest $50 billion assuming China pull out of CPEC? China One belt One Road covers all Central Asia and Russia, not just Pakistan. The major trade route and oil pipeline are via Central Asian states and Russia. Just putting things into perspective.

Ideally, we are all want clean energy, but how many countries can afford it? 33% of US electricity still comes from coal alone. Another 30% from natural gas.

These NGOs which give these guys there ideas... dont tell them that UK a flat country wth few mountains produces 30 % electricity from coal 30 % from gas and 20 % from nuclear... AND 1.9% from hydro electric

klasra blocked me on twitter because he thinks that everything or anything positive Pakistan does is still negative and we r bad ... he is upset that why there r few developments in south punjab and this is why he thinks cpec is bad and all .. 1st of all cpec is a joint initiative taken by China and Pakistan 2nd labour and engineers from both countries r working on this project. Chinese labour is mostly working in northern areas as they have experience in working in mountainous region and also they worked previously when they were building Karakorum road.

Why did Klasra not respond when the Chinese Diplomat said that the reporting of Chinese workers to senate news was a lie? Why did he change the topic to the drawbacks of coal? I have seen Coal plants running in Germany to this day, and even if USA or China are closing down their coal plants they can do it because they have multiple options of power generation and we cannot compare ourselves to them.
