Amir Liaquat announces resignation from MQM, politics

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Amir Liaquat on Tuesday night announced his resignation from the party after what he described as “failure to defend anti-Pakistan statements”, ARY News reported.

Speaking during ARY News show “Off The Record”, Amir Liaquat maintained that he is tired of defending such statements (issued by MQM chief Altaf Husssain).

Liaquat, who was explaining Farooq Sattar’s press conference in the program, suddenly announced resignation from MQM and clarified that “his decision is not emotional” and “cannot defend anti-Pakistan statements”.
