S. Korea poised to sign deal to export K9 howitzer to Asian country

Turkish version is basically a licensed version of K-9 and many component is import from Germany including the engine.

If PA wants , they shall go for China PLZ-45. Embargo proof and battle proven.
I would always favor any purchase from China or Turkey ... ...China, Turkey, Pakistan and KSA should invest together in some mega projects ....It was such a good news that Turkey started to build aircraft carrier by their own ...all alone..but together one can do it better, quicker and cheaper...!

Unrelated to India.

According to the deal signed with S Koreans the SPGs K9 Vajra will be made in India not exported.

The Indian Partner is Larsen & Toubro a Public sector company.

The first few will be exported, rest will be made by L&T's plant.

Korean K-9 and Turkish T-155 uses same MTU engine from Germany ! Rest is about countries' own production and design activities and cooperations. National contribution of Turkish industry for each Firtina howitzers are around %90's.

If you ask me, Turkish designed Turret with chassis skirt armor looks more attractive to me !

India needed SPG's badly, it got the best.
I wont say the best but sure it is right there on top. Talking about the best and the Archer and PZH2000 etc do come to mind. PA for now seem to be content with what they have and that too is no joke at all. Let us see what the future holds for us in the self-propelled howitzer field. :) Being one of the main work machines, i would love to see some local production projects but frankly, it is one of many thing that many of us would love to see and that alone do not have any significance.

Actually India Never So Much Focused Itself on SPH But MLRS More Smerch Example. India Build One of the biggest Inventory Of Field Arty if Follow .
If India Wanted Soviets Already Given them Access to "2S19 "Msta-S" or its Predecessor 2S3 Akatsiya

Difference is Projectile range Btw Two

M109A5 has giving the A5 a maximum range of 22,000 meters(22 KM) with unassisted projectiles and 30,000(30 KM) meters with Rocket Assisted Projectiles (RAP Rounds)

K-9Thunder Has 30,000 m (HE)38,000 m (DP-ICM base bleed) 41,600 m (Extended range full-bore-base)
52-56,000 m (BB+RAP extended range)

Well, Pzh 2000 was also offered in tracked tender which it lost, reasons unknown. Turret of Pzh 2000 was mated with the chassis of Denel G-6 for wheeled tender. Let's see if it wins.

Archer is a strong candidate for mounted guns tender but unlikely to win. Too expensive to have 814+ units in the inventory.

Actually they did, but poor experience with certain field guns had them thinking twice.
Do not forget that the same corridors where the Indians meet their suppliers are also frequented by Pakistan.

People should understand that this isnt only just the K9, but this will be the first large armored manufacturing plant owned by another entity other than OFB, which has a monopoly. This fact, in my opinion, is bigger than the K9 itself, as it will produce India's future armored vehicles as well. L&T is India's largest engineering firm as well.

Btw, there is a wheeled 155mm/52cal program as well.

The M-109 is a pretty solid system and with rocket assisted projectiles can soldier on for many years.
