IAF pilots pop pills to get fighting edge

Link? Or is this your own imagination working overtime? In other words what you just posted is a load of bull.

The Canadian Medical Association Journal reports that modafinil is also used by astronauts on long-term missions aboard the International Space Station. Modafinil is "available to crew to optimize performance while fatigued" and helps with the disruptions in circadian rhythms and with the reduced quality of sleep astronauts experience.

Contraindications

There are no specific contraindications to modafinil other than an allergy to the drug.

I dont mind you guys filling those jackasses with meds though. Them crashing those precious mkis and the new over haggled rafales would be reward enough.
In your enthusiasm you conveniently forgot to add that these have have mentioned as Possible side effects!

Some people have side effects even when taking glucose biscuits!! :azn:

Clutching at straws? Old habit, what?

Actually in my first post that got in your head causing you to jump on the purple train as it does most Indians, I did mention possible side effects as very first line and you even quoted it.

2nd there is a good reason these are prescribed drugs and glucose biscuits are not. And your pretty lame back up of glucose biscuits is not a side effect but allergy, there is a difference.

Allergy is when your body's cells actively blocks certain elements and sometimes turns on own body often giving a lot of pain and in rare cases causing death. Drugs can do both. But their side effects are much more severe. And when allergy occurs it can be even worse. Hence it is called a controlled substance.

Fact that you are defending this issue with such a powerless response is only worth a laugh. But I did say that I didn't mind you guys letting them go in the air with pills poped, I would like to see your new investments down on the ground in pieces.

Side effects are possible but do not necessarily occur in all humans.

Also, a person is likely to experience a single side effect (not the entire list).

Only those pilots are likely to take these pills who do not experience its major side effects.

Less than 10% of people suffer from the adverse effects of modafinil.

Anyway, these medications are taken on "as needed" or " SOS" basis.

You know how they say, 10% ? That's never gonna happen to me until it does. Keep defending the poor logic mixed with arrogance it only strengthens my point and gives me something to look forward to.

The effect of all such pills wears down and they become impotent..Just like Hitler army on hard drugs like Ice and LSD..eventually wore down..a druggie airforce!

......Why these pills were not there during my exam times...:hitwall:
... :raise:where I can lay my hands on them...
...and why the Rafale? It's not in IAF...TOI at it's best..:-)
Modafinil is a bit harder to find, but not zolpedem. It is available in market in the brand name 'zolfresh.'.....was always my favourite during exam times.....excellent initiation of sleep and no hangover, only problem is development of tolerance...available in 5mg,10mg,20mg tablet.

It's like hitting a brick wall with you.
That why there is something called a Clinical trial before any drug is put out in the market. They don't pull the 10% out of thin air.
