UJC claims Pathankot attack, asks India to get over 'Pakistan phobia’

Kashmir based militant group United Jihad Council (UJC) has claimed the responsibility of the Pathankot attack, which has killed seven security personnel and five militants. Srinagar-based CNS quotes UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain saying that Kashmiri militants associated with the ‘Highway Squad’ attacked the airbase.

“Indian government and its media have been suffering from Pakistan phobia. By accusing Pakistan for every attack, India neither succeeded in past to malign the Kashmir freedom struggle nor will it get anything in future through malicious propaganda," Hussain said.

The UJC is comprised of almost a dozen militant Kashmiri groups that fighting against the Indian Army. “The attack has been carried by the mujahideen from National Highway Squad,” the UJC spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesman further stated that by pointing fingers on Pakistan, India cannot demoralize the freedom movement of Kashmiri people. “They haven’t been able to do it in the past and won’t ever be able to do it in the future, " Hussain said. “It would be better for the Indian leadership to read the writing on the wall and let the Kashmiri people decide their fate on their own free accord, without further waste of time”.

The Indian media and Intelligence agencies had been accusing Jesh-e-Muhammad (JeM) for the attacks. The Pathankot airbase has been under attack by militants since the early hours of Saturday morning. In the operation conducted by Indian Army, five militants and seven Indian military personnel have been killed in fighting over the last two days.

You know some militant groups of this umbrella organisation specially JeM are against Pakistan army and they are involved in sectarian killings, attack on army chief and Grand headquarters.

I agree to your point to some extent...It is a fact that political and good number of people of Pakistan seems to like to have a normal relation with India...Most of us want a peaceful enviroment...But the Pakistan Army and ISI is still controlled by their old war generals who are still dream of winning India kind of hilarious mindset...So those are the groups who sponsors and supports terrorist to work against India in one way or the other...

Organisations under UJC are termed terrorist organisations by both the United States where this site is hosted and a few of them are termed the same by the UN and UK.

How is it that a member on this forum can call these terrorists, freedom fighters? Does this not deserve a ban for showing sympathy for terrorist organisations?

Kashmiri separatists are freedom fighters and they have a principled stance. They don't attack civilians, only security forces who have committed mass genocide, abuse and rape against them for more than 60 years. I don't think the genuine separatist groups are named 'terrorists' by the West or by the United Nations.

What is a fact is, that, they are termed as a terrorist organisation. What you think is irrelevant. Unless you can prove they are not termed as terrorist organisation by the US or UN.

The United Jihad Council, also known as the Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC), is a jihadi militant group was formed in the summer of 1994 . It is currently headed by Syed Salahuddin, the leader of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, the largest terrorist group operating in the Indian administered part of Jammu and Kashmir. This organization was created to unify and focus efforts of various armed militant groups fighting against the Indian rule in Kashmir.

The militant group has 13 affiliates. Some of the group members are: Harakat-ul-Ansar, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen, Al-Jihad, Al-Barq, Al-Badr, Ikhwan-ul-Mussalmin, Tehrik-ul-Mujahideen.

Attack is organised from terror group from pakistan with state help, all terrorist were pakistani trained in pakistan but yes there must be insiders help in this, lets not forget drug trade happen in indo pak border in punjab, these people can be involved in this ..
