What's new

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' makes $1 billion in a record 12 days

The bad guy uses a lightsaber with hand guard, any insight into why it's designed that way? Looks like a European longsword inspired piece...
Supposedly...Not hand guards. Ren's light saber is of an older and more powerful design and requires additional exhaust/vents of unused energy once the main blade is formed.

Domestic gross is doable, It is already 76% there.

Avatar $750M
Force Awakens: $571M

Worldwide....that will be tough. Avatar made much more money overseas (72%). Currently Force Awakens is 50/50.

Unless China turns into a bunch of Sci-Fi fans.

too late, Ip man 3 came out.

I'm a fan of Star wars but let be honest if they considered inflation in their chart ,I'm sure the list looked a lot different.

The Star Wars movies actually come out much better domestically when inflation adjusted

something novel it revolutionized movie industry and how special effects are applied.

Great film with the worst villain I have ever seen period. That Ren guy seriously needs to go if they want people to take the Sith seriously.

Its a still completely untrained Sith hence why he got his *** kicked..

Saw it today

There were about 10 ppl in the theater.

The two Bollywood movies were almost full houses.

Didn't see that Han Solo bit coming....

Pricess Leia was underwhelming so was Kylo Ren

Supreme Leader Snoke looks promising though

The problem was it was just a copy of 4-5-6 ... I was laughing to myself in first 30 min of movie the best actor so far was the ball robot:omghaha: And i was like omg they killed Han... why so late ...

No mate, he was trained by Luke for a while, they mention it in the film and it's in the fiction.

Why does the republic call its military the resistance? When does the gov become a rebel?
