I was very happy until 9.15 when all channels except CNN IBN were showing bjp was ahead...even though they were showing bjp is leading they were not showing same numbers.I felt let me switch on Etv Telugu news to see what its numbers were because that is the only news channel which has base in bihar.. I was shocked to see it showing that jdu was leading.. I told myself it couldn't be true.soon CNN Ibn fellow started flashing that it was actually taking numbers from ETV (he wants to avoid escape the responsibility in case their numbers go wrong but soon they started flashing that cnn ibn is the only channel that called the elections correctly without giving credit to etv)

These elections prove that caste is very much a factor in bihar even now.Would Lalu and nithish get along well ?To be an honest it is not a big lose for bjp as it never was a strong party in bihar..besides the entire opppsition came together which accumulated votes of different castes at one place.

It is a simple arithmetic in Bihar. Nitish + Lalu > Modi. As simple as that.

There is a high chance that the Central Government will now be a failure from here on. Let's see.

As long as India remains 'democratic' we have nothing to fear. India is a land of illiterates, democracy will not work. Chinese system is best for India but its illiterate masses dont realise that. India will always remain a slow growing failed state!

Govt needs to smart. Needs a guardian angel to support it otherwise what you say is indeed a possibility.

Step 1. Don't bleed allies like Shiv Sena
Step 2. Get new allies - AIADMK, TMC and SP are some which can extend issue based support to NDA to help the Govt pass some reforms as BJP still has some cards (CBI and corruption cases) where these are concerned.
Step 3. No more fck ups and muzzle the crazies for a while.

This is just a battle lost in what is a long war. Don't make the loss the end all.

Modi needs to step up his game, motivate the cadres, make some concessions to the oppositions to get the parliament running and get to live another day.

Rope in experienced but sidelined leaders like Yashvant Sinha and Swmy for advice on economy. Cut down the salesman act and more real work.

BJP has to be a political animal, don't make it about Egos.

Those pompous foreign tours need to be toned down. You cant afford to let Tur-Daal to go to 220/kg and address 70000 NRIs in London. Foreign policy should take back seat and doemstic issues should get preference.

It's not about egos anymore. The India story is over for now. Expect populism to take over here on. The 'secular' camp will milk this victory to their fullest. There will be great consolidation of 'secular' forces. I doubt 'communal' Hindus will ever be able to overcome that. That is me being honest. :P
