Can India really be the ‘next China’?

Yes, democracy is diffidently a strong sleeping potion. Thanks to the effective western preaching.

I disagree.. Mature democracies have strong stability in the long run because by large values stand the same irrespective of the governing body.. In totalitarian governance, Stability can be brittle one change and the whole system would collapse, How much short bursts of break neck economic development they may archive.. As seen in many cases around the world through history.. Look at Middle East and Latin America as examples

True. They would rather starve to death than killing their sacred cow. And it could be because of their belief that they are born into their caste that their lot is set. There is no progression in this life.

We have a dilemma here about the future of India. All politicians and economists are bidding India's future prosperity on its demographic dividend, but hundreds of million people don't have a purpose in their current life except their supposed pending reincarnation. I am not sure if this is a good combination any leaders of India would like to face.

Mature Democracies do share the similar sets of values, therefore the stability is a given. The same can't be said about India though. Hinduism is playing much bigger role in India's social stability then the core values that all matured democratic societies share. Use the same example of ME, would Iraq be a better country today under Saddam's? West played a significant role on the falls of some former totalitarian governments, mostly out of their own national interests. The Saudi is an opposite example.

Asian work better under totalitarian dictatorship, look at our up bringing lolz strict parents who use the old fashion discipline such as the belt, shoe, strangle, remember that video wire, frying pan, table, parents tag team, flying kick, punch, sanctions (thrown out of the house) , getting shipped to your home country for some time as punishment we can call this Siberia. Note if you are getting the re-education punishment first thing to do run straight to the toilet before your brother or sisters get there. Otherwise you find yourself running upstairs and only to find toilet door locked cos your bro got there first. you can hear your parents coming up the stairs cursing in foreign language this is worse then stalins gulag punishment, since you the only one they going to find, they may as well take ALL out on you.

Now white European parent is democracy all they say don't worry son/daughter we will forgive you its not your fault.

China defies all theory :D. It is an unique system that can happen and be successful only in China.

So are you saying Indians do not have the capability or intelligence to develop?

What Indians lack is the work ethics of US and discipline of China. If they can achieve these two, India could surely beat both of them but I would not hold my breath for either of them.

India is asking for the best of other cultures. But it need to find its own uniqueness. Unfortunately, it's own uniqueness would preventing it from growing.

India has its own unique culture.India is expected to return to its position.China is the same of return to its position.

Nope.. Not happening. India has no national purpose or sense of destiny. Probably Muslims will be replaced by cows in voter lists.
@jamahir to vote in next election you need

Agreed.. In that regard Deng Xiao Ping was a great visionary.. Mao's model was not sustainable

You are wrong. We are still adhere to the chairman MAO's thoughts.
Anyone can become deng.Chairman MAO is difficult to be copied.

I will prefer a strong Leader/ Monarch to run a country like India , rather than Democracy .

....I like Indian films...
Surprising!
You may as well watch Hollywood movies because the Indian movies are a 100%copy of Hollywood movie less the actors and with shitty special effects

On all other fronts India will and is synonymous with Africa. India excels in mass poverty, mass starvation, mass open defecation, mass slums, mass homelesness and mass use of humans as draft animals. The pictures below speak eloquently of India being part of Team Africa then Team China.

Do you care about mass starvation, homelessness and poverty in Pakistan ?

The last time I checked,we did better than you in fighting hunger or poverty.
