Russia-Pakistan Mi-35 Contract Could be Expanded

next door
If you are saying India then please correct your self India is not buying AH-1Z but AH-64 Apache.

This is first batch will go up I beleive 40 plus easy to maintain and very similar Mi 17 so issue .plus pak should go for more hardware from Russia I am long advocate of SU 25 around 36 copies for coin ops will take burden off from airforce
A far more economical option is to get the MI-28 after having the 10-12 MI-35's.

Ignore every thing ...... just answer a question...... why USA is delivering Vipers so late? In late 22018.....? USA companies particularly Lockheed Martin and Bell have reputation of following quick orders ....... also is their any possibility that under Indian pressure USA might still cancel this deal too??

Manufacturing and parts aren't just ready to go. USMC has much larger orders in line being produced. Plus, there are a LOT of parts that are made by other companies and LM and Bell just integrate them. So the entire supply chain process is analyzed and a date is given.

Pakistan should've asked for USMC's existing Vipers for quick deliveries, I am sure the US would've made exceptions to help an ally. This Viper topic came up a couple of years ago too. Pakistan in 2011 couldn't afford it. The US requested Russia on her behalf and Pakistan got the MI-17's right away. So no conspiracy theories please against the US.

The US isn't against you or something "strange" is happening here. We are selling you our top line equipment so obviously we have good, friendly relations with Pakistan. No need to add conspiracy theories on here please.

IMO, the US won't cancel this deal. Unless something stupid happens again and Pakistan is linked to it directly. I think anyone would react to those situations.

But looking at the ground reality, Pakistan getting cleaned up, both government and the military focusing on getting Pakistan rid of terrorism and making her an economic power, are ALL things that the West likes to see, AKA, the Stability. So two civilian and stable governments don't impose sanctions, they work together for bigger, better, more profitable economy growing projects, which help people on both sides.

The US had done a LOT of behind the scene work to get Pakistan the GSP-Plus from the Europeans too. But sadly, I don't see anyone saying one simple thank you. So I thank the United States of America to be there for Pakistan over her 70 years of friendships, and in providing significant help to Pakistan....on behalf of ALL Pakistanis :usflag: :pakistan: :smitten:. You guy should at the least like this post so the readers on both sides, can appreciate the gesture. A little thank you, smile and appreciation goes a LONG way between two friends, even in difficult times.

Pakistan needs currently need these machines. Good decision.

Well thanks for such gratitude...... :-)
And as per Indian Apache deal....... India is struggling with price issue...... Which deal in your opinion solidify first?
How you compare both gunships??? Just a light comparison.......
And is Longbow radar in package of both Apache and Viper.......?

Russia is in dire need of export orders if pakistan has money then they can get Russian defensive weapons but there equipments though cheap initially turns out to be more costly in the long run because of intensive repairs and there oil guzzling heavy body and engines

I still believe their transport helecopters are really cost effective and efficient, Pak has considerable experience of almost 30-35 years with Mi-17's, so these choppers would make counter insurgency more effective !!!

Russia could potentially sell up to 12 Mi-35 helicopters to Pakistan.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The contract on the delivery of four Russian Mi-35 helicopters to Pakistan could be expanded, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department Zamir Kabulov said Tuesday.

"It all depends on money. Pakistan has stated that it has the financial means for 10-12 helicopters of this type, but negotiations are ongoing," Kabulov told RIA Novosti.

Moscow and Islamabad are discussing possible supplies of Russian defensive weapons to Pakistan, Kabulov added.

"Pakistan has an interest in other Russian weapon systems. Negotiations are underway. We are talking about defensive systems," Kabulov told RIA Novosti.

In March, Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain announced Islamabad's intention to expand military-technical commerce with Russia with the purchase of Mi-35 gunships.

In August, a contract for four Mi-35M transport and attack helicopters was signed by Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport and Pakistan's Ministry of Defense, according to a spokesperson for the Russian Embassy in Islamabad.

The Mi-35M (NATO Designation Hind-E) is an upgraded export version of the Mi-24V multipurpose assault helicopter, developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant.

Only 10 - 12 Like Seriously -_- ?

I Think Pakistan should start Thinking on Local Production Of Indigenous Multipurpose Choppers as soon as possible.

Can any one identify and tell name of those 4 missiles in green color shown in circle in right corner of this pictures ?

It is very important for Pakistan to increase the number of MI35, 4 were just not enough, even 12 are not enough. Pakistan should try to acquire at least 40 of them.

What Russian break even point per barrel ? . I think its 45 dollar today and Russia need around 60 or more

Pakistan has a large number of MI-17 helis... Apart from the IL-78 MIDAS tankers... Or even the RD-93s...

We have already established an overhauling and rebuild factory for the MI's with cooperation from St Petersberg workshop... Pak has also operates captured Afghan mi-25s in the past... So it wouldn't be an issue for us..

12 would be more than enough though we need MI-28 in good numbers

well that might be waiting for spares from Russia which comes at snails pace sometimes. thats why India diversified with western and Israeli weapons of late

The tankers (4) were bought from Ukraine.

I thk Pak wont get more then 10 of these..
I thk they did this contract to the ball rolling on Russian Defense deals
Like seniors have said, multiple platforms is a headache logistics wise.
The goal might be to get other weapons down the road, this was the quickest deal they could get and justify with the WoT, they cant justify selling S-300s to us for WoT can they

What if I told you that I have credible info that the 4 were just the initial batch and more MI-35E's will follow?

12 would be more than enough though we need MI-28 in good numbers
Unless you cancel that 925 + 85 million dollar deal for the Vipers?
