That is great news but I hope they buy a new advanced trainer aircraft like the l-15 or the t-50 so they can train their pilots.:pakistan:

30-50 FBC-1 Flying Leopard

Rahman can you confirm this? According to who?

Good choice if this is true to replace A-5 role.

I would like to know the source of this information, I wasn't aware if PAF showing interest in JH-7/FBC-1 Flying Leopard.

It will be a good choice though and ideal replacement for the AQ-5 Fantans for FGA/Bomber role.

Mach 2.0+ design with 11 hardpoints!

I dont know if this is true unless verified. Twin engine makes me think again. :undecided:

Pakistan is not going to replace A-5 with FBC-1 Flying Leopard rather, the air chief said in his interview with AFM in the current issue that the first inductions of JF-17 squadrons will be to replace No.16 and 26 squadrons composed of A-5 in Peshawar. PAF is not going for L-15 to scrap the K-8 program. They are sticking to it and have more K-8 on order. Rest of the fleet prediction seems OK as far as the orders given by PAF to different vendors and companies are concerned. But remember that you cannot think about the F-16 before their induction materializes. Its always a fragile issue and susceptible of sacntions anytime.

Agreed. I dont know if it is feasible to acquire L-15 right now unless advanced training is really needed. (If it has planned to be inducted, it is more to do with the training of the pilots on the advanced platforms before fighter planes J-10, F-16, etc are inducted) Also not many K-8 aircrafts have been inducted so far, and we are still in an acquiring phase of more such aircrafts. So acquiring L-15 doesn't make sense to me for now at least.

Can you please share the link?

Thanks.

If the rumours regarding the FBC-1 are true. Then it seems that engine issue (plane being under powered) has been fixed and it is mainly picked due to its bombing role and deep strike capability. The plane is also good for anti-shipping role.

It was reported a while back that PAF was evaluating or at least interested in FBC-1 from Taiwanese sources.
