I have been in both.

The Delhi metro coach shown was the one that goes to the Airport. The local ones look similar to mumbai metro, only they are less noisy.

Still though that is no excuse, there was a point I felt to kick that wasabi curry on the Chinese kids face but it was just a passing thought in my mind :-) lack of manners there is no excuse!

Also some idiot tourists do not know you have to wait for passengers to get off the god damn metro first before you can embark.

Delhi Metro is better than Kolkata Metro but are too crowded
If you can get inside a metro in Rajiv Chowk then it would be an achievement lol

Mate as you know I am working in Mumbai(living in Bandra khar to be exactly). You should how much distance is there between Bandra and Andheri. That should give you a idea that I am very well aware of its daily performance from a customer perspective. I have also been to Delhi in november 2012 and there I saw a magic. I have started litterally worshipping Delhi metro. I used to travel between Laxmi nagar to Noida last stn(it was just after city centre if I remember correct). That was some superb service. Now here metro is pathetic. Why?? I will give some points. First and foremost the pic poster by our friend is athentic but I will say he is biased as he posted only mild deficiency pic. There are pics with me in which water is falling like a waterfall. Second multiple serious breakdowns have dented the reliability and consistancy. Third noise issue due to stress on tracks and coaches is higher. All I am saying is let the may end come and as soon as first showers hit the city, our metro will become the replacement of water kingdom(famous water sports resort near Boriwali-Bhayander)!!!

may be you are right but people are saying as if its horrible/worthless... may be DMRC is better am not arguing with that.

may be.. from consumer point of view.. they are idential in fuction... not sure why some members posting pics and calling it piece of sh*t
@uparyupari has explained why mate (malfunctioning equipment and the poor finish on the body).

I have not been on neither it was just a report I read, how do they compare to the London underground?
I have not been on the Mumbai metro but have been on the Delhi metro and London underground and, as far as I am concerned, there is simply no comparison. The DM is well maintained, modern, well run, comfortable and quite pleasant to use. The London underground is HORRENDOUS, almost every experience I have had with it has been quite terrible bar a few occasions. Of course a lot of this is because the London underground infrastructure has not been changed much since the Victorian era and the Tube has been faced chronic underinvestment. The London Underground network is very extensive however. The Delhi Metro too is quite extensive and is growing very aggressively, by 2025 it should be the third or section largest metro network in the world.

Not to mention water leaking inside Mumbai metro when it rains.

AFAIK that wasn't rain water but a leaking a/c unit but still, abysmal build quality on those Mumbai metro trains.

An leaking AC does not create such a waterfall inside the coach. This happened during the monsoons. Rain water got in and then started spilling all over the passengers.

The Delhi Metro's Airport Express is its own line with its own trains/stations:

Have you guys seen the new fully advertisement covered metro coaches in Delhi...??
So far I have seen two of those. They are totally form tip to tail in ads, which makes the metro somewhat pleasing to the eyes after seeing the same color for so many years

I personally find them ugly but it brings in some serious revenue for the DMRC so one can't complain too much. The Gurgeon Rapid Metro and Mumbai Metro also wraps some of their trains like this.

+ AFAIK the DMRC has said only around 10% of their trains will be offered to be fully wrapped like this, the rest will be without such wraps.
