Pakistan Army Information

russia sa jo gun ships purchase karin hai wo deliver hoi ka nh?

Pakistan must focus heavily on mechanization of ground forces, synchronization of forces from command & control center, focus on synchronization of Air Forces and Ground Forces for high-firepower and joint-operations.

Training, education, and understanding of infantry must be increased as well.

Pakistan's military must become a hard hitting, highly mobile, synchronized force with ability to deploy massive firepower quickly, decisively, and effectively against any adversary within 4000km radius of Islamabad.

4000km.....wow

so according to these kids they have a information of Pakistan army :D

go to page-1 of this thread and add ~500 more.

So around 2500 to 2700 APCs? Isn't this pretty low for a army of 550,000+ soldiers?

Mechanization and mobility is huge part of modern warfare concept...Pakistan seem to be living in 1914 era were numbers and trenches are imagination of battlefiled.

no its not....its a process which is continuing according to budget allocations...mechanization of infantry units is a major agenda for the army...plus APC's may not be too mobile along the LOC in Kashmir but on the plains and desert areas yes indeed.

In recent Gaza conflict, M113s of IDF were brutally busted by Gaza fighters...so much so that Israel has started to phase out these machines. But according to the Israeli newspapers I read, they said "APC was 50 year old"...I don't know if they were referring to IDF's specific APC that was hit or making a general statement about M113s that started their production decades ago.

In the light of above, how good you think our APCs are? Are Pakistani-made APCs significant modification of base M113 model, and hence more protected?

The Pakistan Army has the stupid doctrine that the APC is only a battle Taxi and not a armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle. They try to compensate the lack of firepower of the APC by giving the crew more firepower with equipping the squad of a M-113 with a MG-3 machine Gun, 60mm mortar and bazooka RPG-7 !

Compared to a Indian BMP-1-3 Pakistani APC lacks absolut in firepower and protection !

here compare both vehicles:

Pakistani M-113 main weapon is a 12.7mm AA Gun which only can be fired from outside, and the gunner has no protection:

Here the Indian BMP, which has turret equipped with a 30mm Gun, a 7,62mm Gun, and a Anti Tank missile:
Main armament:
30 mm automatic cannon 2A42
9M113 Konkurs ATGM
Secondary armament:
7.62 mm machine gun (PKTM)

Its how one uses/operates the systems is what matters.

The 113 has been a highly successful APC platform.

@fatman17 can you give please some examples and elaborate it ?:

Which version and role are you talkting ? The Basic M-113 installed with a single 12.7mm AA gun (like Pak Army) or the modern uprgraded Versions, with bigger gun and turret ?
