Hindu right rewriting Indian textbooks

I sincerely hope intent of separating academic world from motivation from religious mythologies and faiths should not be confused with abuse of Indian culture and traditions by Indians here.

Don't worry....IT WILL BE confused with abuse of Indian culture and traditions by Indians here.

More like the beginning of brain washing?

pakistanis have no problem teaching their kids that all non muslims are kafirs and deserve to be hated, that pakistanis are talland fair while Indians are dark and short and now you are preaching us. nice try i must say:D

besides, no matter what, conditions in my country will always be far better than that in yours, now go and watchout for the drones.

Oh I'm sorry man.
Drona saw an Apsara...he was overcome with desire, collects the results of that in clay pot...and nine months later a baby. Therefore 1st test tube baby was in India.....and how criminal of me to show this joke as nonsensical.

Dude, whether this is a part of science, ""cannot"" be a part of any discussion.....

This attitude is da problem I was pointing out. How much do we know science. Its just another 'We only know what is taught to us' kinda stuff.
Again, I am not asking to believe anything but u shud understand that only an 'unproven but possible' type gives birth to research. Simply accepting the cannot approach is all illiterate. Hell, even true definition of science says. EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE UNTIL NOT EXPERIMENTED, TRIED, RESEARCHED AND EMPIRICALLY REFUTED.

Dude, you tell me any other book I'm ok. But telling a 9th grade kid in a text book that 1st test tube baby came from a claypot 7500 years ago IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. That should be reasonably acceptable science. Reminds me of how Nazi scientists tried to discredit E=MC2. Whatever they tried when 50 megatons of fusion explosion takes place, the fundamental truth asserts itself.

Well.I dont like if they mix mythology with history or science. But I like if they encourage the childrens about an awareness of our own tradition and culture.
I know about our curriculum because I studied undrr that curriculum.Stupid Aryan invasion theory ,glory of invading muslim barbarians .Inspiring quoutes of our own Hindu,Buddh,Sikh were almost irrelevant.I think we need to address that.
Our government is damn right about it..
Tippu is listed as a national hero and a great freedom fighter in Indian school and other history textbooks..But we know who was that f is..A mass murder of religious minorities and a womanizer..Too much sikularism..

collects the results of that
The results? :D :omghaha: :omghaha: :enjoy:

It's a fun info is it not? That the idea was there itself seems pretty revolutionary to me. Even in case it's an idea, remember that HG Wells wrote 'The Time Machine' in 1899.

On topic - Mythical Dwarka(not today's Dwarka) was a 'mythical city' till 2001. Now, not so much. I can give plenty of examples. But interesting anecdotes are put in textbooks to make things interesting.

Santa Claus is fiction, but we used to make Christmas trees in school and sang Jingle Bells as part of celebrations in school. The Committees Resisting Saffronization of Textbooks (yes that's an organization) does not have anything to say about that. :enjoy:

In nursery - Jingle Bells is itself in the syllabus and we ALL have drawn Christmas trees in our SUPW or drawing classes when we did not even know we were Hindus or etc. :D

We, Indians have seen through this - more or less. You can see the results. :) It is in my interest that you bash such 'Hindu'-ness publicly and openly. Please contine to do so. :agree:

Mind you - I am not against Santa or drawing Christmas trees or singing carols. But Indian culture and even 'mythology' will also be included in bits and pieces where relevant.

No one put Christmas trees in science text books. I'm sorry you're feeling so sad you had to drawn them in SUPW but drone collecting 'fruits of desire' in claypot don't fix that trauma.

As expected comprehension problems and bias has again muddied your judgement. I loved and still do love Christmas along with all its paraphernalia. It was given to provide an example of using popular festivals, ideas etc to drive a point. To make things appear simple. Kids won't find learning spelling of 'Jingle' or 'reindeer' without the hope of a gift from a bearded jolly old man from the skies - if you know what I mean. (I know you don't) :D Never mind. :enjoy:

Love/ Don't Love Christmas, but don't screw around a science text. and if a kid needs an 'illustration' of drona collecting recults in 9th standard, then he needs to be in a different kind of school. You will pull whatever snakeoil from your rear to prove this is acceptable. I know that but I ain't falling for it.

I know that but I ain't falling for it.
Good. You are not the target audience anyway. Evil Hindus to their old evil tricks again. :enjoy:

Look another gem from the Committee for the Resistance to Saffronization of Textbooks -
" A quote from Charakasamhita has been given as an introduction before the portion on ‘Reproduction in Human Beings’. In another example, a chapter on ‘Reproduction in Animals’ (page 204), a quote of Swami Vivekananda appears after an explanation on the predetermination of the sex of a growing foetus. The report notes that such quotes of Swami Vivekananda “are found after most lessons.”"

So Vivekananda is verboten too. :enjoy: Cool. :D
