What's new

& the winner in Maharashtra & Haryana is...

Hopefully BJP will end up with 50+ in Haryana.
Shiv Sena going through a Rahul Gandhi Moment. What happened to Raj Thackeray's party ?

BJP has won 121 seats but reemmber the seats are won by BJP plus (RSP, SSS+ BJP).

Plus many of the winer candidates of BJP were imported from NCP and Congress.

So the success is not so grand.

On other hand Shivsena won 63 seats on her own, it is gain of 19 seats.

I heard GST will be milestone in economic reforms. Any idea how will it change the things.
Sardar....
There are two types of taxes one is Direct (Example Income tax) and other is in-direct. In-direct taxes are the ones that a person as a buyer of a product or service pays to seller or service provider who in turn files back these taxes to the government. examples of these are VAT, Sales tax etc.

Now in India, such a tax is levied by both Central and sate governments. Goods and Services Tax (or GST) proposes to change this by having a single tax only enveloping all gamuts of goods and services. The idea behind this is to have a simplified tax structure so that its becomes easier for a seller (& user) to file taxes and at the same time increasing the sphere of tax collection and hence tax collection itself. For business it will helpful by removing the complex taxation mechanism and hence help in ease of conducting business.

In India, this was was proposed by Vajpayee Government and has since been in discussion. States have an objection as they want a proper share of tax amount which government is considering actively.

When implemented, this value would be something around 18%. As of now more than 150 countries have such a tax regime including our neighbor Pakistan.

Really heart warming to see Congress mukt Bharat but what is Congress really doing!!!!

Talk of Ostrich mentality are they unable to see the inevitable?? When will Rahul Gandhi be relieved of this pain or should i say burden. I mean the poor fellow is really not cut out for this. Don't take this as a Pro Congress comment. Let some one like Scindia or younger lot take over.

As a Democratic Country we really need a good opposition and whatever they have done in past (which i absolutely hate and particularly vis a vis Corruption) , Congress as a Party (read Institution) is important for us. I mean think of Republicans only American political scene without Democrats may be to draw a parallel.

Maybe AAP could fill the vacuum left behind by decimation of Congress

What India needs a new opposition with a forward looking ideology, no more "secular fabric khatre mein hai" types. People are getting more and more aware of things, and they can't be fooled by these castes and secular cr@p anymore. People are hungry for progress and parties who talks about such things would be voted by the people.

AAP can never be a good option, it will be limited to 2-3 states at max, where they will loose whatever traction they have left.

True and accepted too. However Congress doesn't just seems to accept or act on the change part.

What i am afraid is that, the status quoist's in Congress are hoping for disillusionment of Public with BJP. They are hoping that this whole "Change" thing is a flash in the pan, and in few years all things will be back to "normal".

Woe the day when Congress will be relegated to a regional status as BJP will have absolutely no opposition. Even the best guy with best intentions cannot be aloof to corruptions of absolute power and for BJP to grow as it is now, it needs the best possible competition.

AAP was a flash in the pan for sure.

It really is something thrust over him and u can see, he isn't interested at all. Much like what Uday Chopra is doing in bollywood. There are better faces and minds in congress provided someone is trying to look beyond Gandhi family BUT.... (u know the rest)

Absolutely, unless they have an honest introspection, it is quite likely they will soon extinct. Ab ek hi gaana koi kab tak sunega?

Only old generation people form the support base of such ideology, the young generation people wants jobs instead of caste based politics, secular politics or evil poonjivad.

BSP set to lose status as national party - The Times of India

A news i was waiting to hear for a long time. Hope it is SP's turn next. those two parties have single handedly converted UP into a lawless jungle.

Not sure if Congress is capable of introspection by ignoring the big elephant in the center of the room Rahul Gandhi. Their bastions will fall one by one. Sachin Pilot and Scndia fellow are good but their a ceiling for growth in congress for people without Gandhi surname. Priyanka would be blunted before she can step in through Vadra angle.

A janta dal kind of opposition will emerge but not sure how it will pan out as every regional party head thinks he is bigger than the next leader. A sorry time for opposition for some period is in store.
