If we believe that logic. Soviet Union would never been defeated................ But they were.

Nuclear bombs are not everything in warfare. You can't use nuclear bomb in a cold war if you want to be pounded to oblivion.

Do not flatter yourself. USSR collapsed because of internal reasons. Even the united strength of all Europe under the guidance of excellent German generals failed to defeat USSR.
In Russia, reforms are progressing in the right direction. But in the West they do not write about it, they write about Russia only bad things.

Not sure that nato got "whacked", minimal casualties and decent enough control over what is just mountains and desert with people who just succumb to whoever has a gun, be it Taliban or US troops, Russia got "whacked" in Afghanistan though. Russias army being well trained, well its well trained compared to armies in Africa I suppose but the Russian military is what I would describe as sloppy but it has always been really.

Nonsence. United States along with Europe is only getting stronger. Russia is dead meat in the coming years, it is nowhere as powerful or rich as the now extinct Soviet Union. Russia just needs to be bogged down in another country for around ten-years and the next thing you will know Motherland Russis will give birth to another 14 republics.

Western sanctions are only going to get worse and they're going to bite very hard couple of years down the line - just ask the Iranians.

Go ahead. Start another Cold War. Russia is part of the powerful SCO alliance. India, Pakistan, Iran, Mongolia are all joining it on September 11. Russia will ban German auto import and replace it with Swedish Volvo and British Jaguar / Land Rover which are owned by Geely and Tata, respectively.

The US does next to no trade with Russia. Germany will get bankrupted from sanctions. If Russia bans German cars, so will China and India. China and India are the best friends of Russia

I doubt that, lol. When NATO's article 5 was invoked on 9/11, everyone helped the US fight the Taliban in Afghanistan. Russia attacking would be way more serious and I'm sure that everyone would respond at a call for help as well.
